I have an olevia 242T FHD LCD HDTV model. I dont have cable at my house, just want the free broadcast channels, but my tv only says a message ''no channels in list'' on the Turner source option. Do I need to buy an external antenna. I am confused I thought this TV came in with a built in antenna. What do I do in order to see the channels and to be able to do so now with the upcoming digital transition?Thanks!

Yes this tv dose have a digital tuner inside of it,all flats LCD and Plasma tvs are Digital tvs they all can get free DTV air broadcasting tv channels.All digital flats LCD and Plasma tvs are DTV set u just require a very good like a roof Antenna or a newly Digital design portable Antenna connected the tv incomming air broastcasting signal cable back of to the flats screen tvs at the axail input call ANT.Then go into the tv menu.Goto setup go down pick AIR than press the enter button for scanning for free DTV air broadcasting channels.After the tv finish scanning for channels than the tv will let ur tv to get all the free DTV broadcasting channels.

Different cable systems use different frequencies for the TV channel numbers. There should be some kind of selection in your setup menu to switch between broadcast TV channels and different cable/satellite channel schemes.

I have an olevia 532 b12 model. I do have cable at my house, straight to tv , no cable box.. but my tv only says a message ''no channels in list'' on the Turner source option. I Just bought this TV with no manual, What do I do in order to see the channels , to me it seems like the remote is locked. I cant change the time date , nothing ? The DVD playes plays and sounds great,,, Its just the cable TV part

the remote control code for DirecTV with Olevia 242T or 237T (37' or 42') model is 11610. this code will power on/off and volume up/down the buttons on directv remote.

Unfortunately for all of us (we have 747i) service seems very poor and the failure mode you describe doesn't give me any clues despite 40+ years of service experience.
Ours is still 100% but I now suspect our trouble will come.
