When loging on windows press F8 button then choose Safe mode.
If your monitor work on safe mode
so all you have to do is to change your screen refresh rate & settings
Right click on your desktop > properties > settings > change your screen resolution to 600 by 800 then go to >advanced > Monitor and click on (Hide modes that this monitor cannot display )
hope u enjoey it if no just contact me on [email protected]

No signal from computer after Windows XP loading screen comes up: when I turn the computer on, there's video signal to the monitor, but once it gets to Windows loading, it stops and goes black.

Does it do the same when you bootup in safe mode (hit f8 key while booting up)? if it is OK in safe mode, then it is software problem, not hardware.
Post back what you find.

My comouter asks for a password when trying to reboot. How can I bypass the password?

Try TOSHIBA as the password. It works on most of their laptops. I'm not sure about desktops but it's worth a shot! :) Also try holding ESC while it's booting before the password prompt comes up. That sometimes works too. Good luck!

Monitor not supported

Well the monitor not being support is not the issue. the issue is the video card cannot produce a signal that is supported for the monitor. Its doing this to let you know also to lower your resolution because the monitor will pop if the resolutions is to high. the monitor itself does not matter if you had Vista as lond as the monitor agree with the signal your cool if it don't it will do this. Try lowing the res using another monitor then put the orginal back on and you should be good.

Thanks

Toshiba Equium 3200m hard disk upgrade

From all of the specs, it appears that is motherboard only supports up to a 20GB drive. The way to add this drive is to buy a separate hard drive controller, but honestly that is a waste of money. By the time you finished adding pieces and parts to get everything to work, you will have replaced so much that you could buy a new system and alos have issues wiht some things not working.
Dell has a low end desktop for on $399 and you can find some things even less than that in their refurb section, with a warranty, for less.

Gateway laptop 450 rog

be sure to circle through possible screen.
use FN key + a key with a screen symbol on your keyboard (or check your doc) to switch from main screen to external monitor and back.
sometime some techies use external monitor for pc final test and forgot to restore configuration to laptop screen.
At restart XP is expecting the last used monitor and nothing shows on laptop screen.
try also connecting any external monitor to vga plug.
let me know if is fixing
