Hi we have a Simpson washing machine mod No swt704 Date 12.06.2012 it's all rusted out my 5 years warranty don't cover this

Unless you are going to get out your multimeter and trace the power, you are going to need a service call. They appear to have a history of failing control boards.

your lid switch may be stuck its a simple fix to bypass it

if it goes to the end of the wash and then nothing,check for a block or faulty drain pump

Try utube there is some videos there of similar machine designs that are very helpful or you can download a repair manual for your model through Simpson/Electrolux....hope this helps gl

Possibly with a good welder. If it has one place it probably has more hidden and not yet visible.

We had the same problem. Electrolux repairman came last week and replaced the lid switch parts with a new designed part. Told me the original part was subject to recall because of a problem with the design, was getting wet and stopping the maching operating correctly, and causing shocks. Ring Electrolux, should be covered under the two year warranty (but because the fault was there when the machine was bought, shouldn't matter even if warranty period had expired)

You should contact Kenmore, most inner wash tubs came with a lifetime warranty, you would have to pay for the labor but they should cover the part. Good luck !

If you still have your book, look in the warranty section. The baskets on most models are covered 5 or 10 years against rust. That covers the part but not labor.($130-$160) If the rest of the machine is in good condition, it would probably be worth it. If you don't have your book, look up your specific model on the Whirlpool website and you should be able to find the warranty info. If it is no longer covered, the repair cost would probably not be worth it.

check the basket of the machine for rust spots on the basket if thats the case the basket should have a 10 year warranty depending on the age marks are either caused from that or the dryer. if its frigidaire the dryer then the front seals probably need to be changed make sure to find out exactly which machine its coming from
