Set date on omega seamaster quartz 1425

When you pull the crown (winder) , you will notice it has two positions (two clicks). The first click is for quick date setting, the second click is for time setting (moving hands). Second click can be use for date setting as well, but for this you need to move watch hands forward for 24 hours to pass 12 o'clock.

The movement on the second hand is jumping every 5 seconds instead of every second, however the time is still correct.

Many high end quartz watches have a feature called the EOL or end of life indicator. This causes the seconds hand to jump 2, 3 or 5 seconds depending on the make of watch when the battery life is low. The watch will continue to keep accurate time until the battery dies completely. So, when you see your seconds hand jumping multiple seconds it is time to get a battery.

Help! i have a misty face on my omega seamaster how can i fix this?

Have you had it serviced recently or the battery changed in a non-authorised jewellers. It looks like your seal has gone. Omega need to be compressed after opening the back.

Is an Omega seamaster copy waterproof? (And this is not a Chinese cheap copy either. It appears very convincing.)

Generally it is safe to assume that copies are not waterproof although they be water resistant. Genuine omegas are sealed and compressed which is why a battery change at an authorised dealer (who will end the watch to omega) is approx £40.

Omega automatic seamaster losing time

Most likely your watch needs to be serviced.

Every watch, both mechanical and quartz needs regular service.

When the oils in the watch dry out they get gummy and will work against the gear train. They also stop lubricating and friction builds up causing wear.

Hope this helps,

Can i replace automatic movement for quartz in a james bond model , and can i do this myself

You can if you have following:
1) Lathe technique skills,
2) Watchmaking skills,
3) Watch engineering knowledge,
4) All necessery watchmaking hand tools,
4) Watchmakers lathe,
6) Microdrill,
7) Omega or ETA manufactured quartz movement
8) Original Omega dial for this particular movement,
9) Watch hands for this particular dial.
At the very end your watch will have no market value at all exept sentimental value for yourself.

Differentiating omega model 2561.80 and a model 2531.80

Kris,
The only way to find out what model of Omega you actually own is to open it.  This should have been done by whoever you already brought it to.  Omega only prints their model #'s on the movement inside the watch.  If you open the watch, look on the movement, you'll know what model you own.
