Hello my phone nokia 6680 is giving msg Telephone :System error (-18) also System error (-3) also System error (-26) and also when iam deleting msg from inbox the size of phone memory getting increased despite it should decreased , also when i check the phone memory i find Memory in use is 9928 KB and free memory is 0 KB , even i have nothing stored in the phone memory would u plz help me on this thanx alot

That could be a virusgo to a nokia care and get a new softwareits not big matter but better make a backupu can reinstall new software but its riskybetter opt for a nokia care geniune stuff

As you said You deleted SOME SYSTEM FILES

• Try to avoid editing in System files if YOU R NOT SURE ABOUT THE FILE

Anyway you might be deleted sys file supporting to open Msg....

Now Do following....

• Press CALL button
• Press *(Star)
• Press 3
• Press Power ON

HOLD IT until it appears/ Blinks Nokia TWICE....Or for few minutes....
YOU ARE DONE.......ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY........!!!!!

The phone's memory is full, which causes the error message and lock ups. This error prevents you from freeing up memory by deleting messages.

Try the following (taken from the Nokia support forum): http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=hardware&thread.id=7775

1. Delete unused names/numbers from the address book to free up memory. (Perhaps write down the ones you want to keep for later re-entry)
2. Once a critical threshold is reached the msg inbox indicator will blink on
3. Enter inbox and DELETE as many messages as you can before phone freezes up again
4. If phone freezes or you get the error message again, restart and keep deleting from the phone book until it allows you hassle-free msg inbox access as per normal (but don't forget to continue deleting thos messages).

try to remove the battery and the sim card, let it refresh the system or you go to the restore factory settings. All you have to do is to make it as new again as per the system.

Try doing a Factory Reset. (PLEASE DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK - FACTORY RESET WILL DELETE EVERY THING OUT OF YOUR PHONE)

Dial *#7370# now it will ask restore original device settings,yes,it will ask for password its-12345, your phone will restart, all the data on our phone memory will be deleted,and it will be like when you first bought it.

But i don't think so that gonna help you out that much. It seem to be issue with the network. Try using some other Mobile service provider. See if problem still remain their on your mobile.

These kind of error message comes when you have WEAK NETWORK.

try connecting the phone to your PC.. is the phone detected?? try to see if the phone can be detected in Nokia PC Suite..
if it can, then goto nokia website and download the system upgrade for the phone.. and then try to install a fresh system on the phone..
if it dsnt work, then i guess takin it to a phone shop will be the best thing to do..

you will need to get the phone reset and have the software loaded back onto it some times you can get the flash lead and the programme to do this but it is hard to come buy and you cant buy it from shop or net but it is out their alternatively take the phone to repair shop and they will do this for you for a small fee it is probably that one of the games was corrupt or had virus on it hope this is some help.....................................
