Some routers can be configured to block certain websites as a manual process (one site at a time). You need administrator rights to log in to your router and do this.

Your browser may have a pop-up blocker option in the preferences that can be checked to activate it. If your computer is displaying countless "pop ups" when browsing the Internet it could because malware has changed the settings of your browser. Check your browser's preferences to see if your home page and/or search engine preferences have changed (without you changing them.) If you don't recognize the page or search engine in your preferences change them back to your preferences. Recheck these settings again after you've restarted your computer.

On the internet, how does one distinguish between an ad that popped up in your browser history or a site that you visited?

A pop up does as described, it pops up whilst viewing a web page. An advert is usually displayed just as a web page is opening.
Use a program like Adblocker to stop that from happening.

Where to find the Cloud on my Galaxy J3?

Install the free Ad-block Browser
  • An alternative to your current browser is the free Ad-block Browser, made by the same company as the notorious AdBlock desktop extension.
Block pop-up ads in ChromeIf it's really only the pop-up adverts that bother you and you'd rather not have to install a second browser then these can be blocked in Google's own Chrome browser. Launch the browser, tap on the three dots at the top right of the screen, then choose Settings, Site Settings.
Scroll down to Pop-ups and ensure the slider is set to Blocked.
Use Data Saver mode If you are sticking Chrome, there is another step you can take to avoid data-hogging content online.
Data Saver compresses aspects of web pages that aren't required on mobile devices. It offers a smoother web browsing experience, and savings on your data bill as your phone no longer struggles to pull down unnecessary ads and animations.
It can lead to a somewhat flatter browsing experience, and it is possible that some web pages will look wonky. But you can always disable Data Saver - it's a two-second job.
Open up Chrome, and then hit the three dots menu icon in the top righthand corner. Choose Settings, then find Data Saver. Ensure this is set to On.

Tft lcd dvd player... showing tray error and not ejecting a disk?

The disc loading mechanism has the fault. Either with loading motor or loading belt. Visit this site for more details. Type in the site name "Electro-help" either Google or Yahoo search box [not in the address bar of your browser], and click search. It is an electronic equipments service help site. All details you want are there. Note the position of hyphen in between words in site name, when you type it in. The site will appear as it is in web; subtitled as electronics equipments' repair help.

Pull up older posts. You can gather all details. Sometimes, click open the adverts' by the side and bottom of each post might give you more details.

How can i stop adverts popping up at the side of face book its so annoying

Facebook's revenues come from selling ads. Other than certain web browser addons, there's no way to remove the ads from Facebook's pages. But If you have Active X or download it and click to protected mode it will stop the adds from popping up, but will keep the regular side adds. the pop up will come on the first time you log in but if you click the little Lock emblem on the bottom right it will engage and stop pop ups, which are running on a spyware software.
Hope this helps.

My DSL is Too Slow, could it involve my phone lines?

Hello there.

It sounds like your computer might be infected with something, you should not be getting popups in this day and age :)

I would suggest 2 things, firstly you can avoid most of the problems on the Internet by using a safer web browser, either Firefox or Opera is much safer than using the included browser Internet Explorer6/7.

The second thing would be to run an online virus, trojan, spyware scanner such as housecall . This runs in your web browser and does not conflict with any antivirus installed on the computer, let it scan your computer and when its done it should remove anything found.

Doing this and using another web browser should speed up your computer which in turn should speed up your internet hopefully.

In firefox you can even install a plugin call 'adblock filter updater' which not only blocks adverts but stops them from even loading, this should speed up your connection some.

Try this and let us know.
Hope this helps.
