I am having the same prolem what is the solution?

  • goodsam Nov 22, 2007

mine will come on for a few seconds showing the volume level then after 4 seconds or so it will shut off with out warning....seems like a common problem im thinking it might have something to do with the common overheating problem of this receiver....

  • Anonymous Jan 11, 2008

I have the same problem. It has been occurring since I purchased the unit but BestBuy disavows any knowledge of the problem. Speakers are all new and sufficiently large, wiring all tested.

Sometimes the problem occurs within seconds, sometimes an hour and a half into a DVD. Resetting has no effect. Once it turns off, it will continuously turn off each time I try to turn it on again. This problem is MADDENING!

    Anyone know of a solution?

I have the same problem. I like to watch my movies loud. Everytime I
turn up the volume past 12.5db, the receiver shuts off and goes into a standby mode. It will come back on, but you have to turn down the volume to keep it on.

Mine is doing the same thing. On for about 30min then shuts off.

  • texnhawk Jul 10, 2008

My receiver turns on then shuts down completely after 5 seconds. It was working fine and I don't believe had been run too loud. It was outside and possibly overheated or might have gotten some dirt on a chip. I did blow off any dust and it didn't help.

  • Anonymous Jul 30, 2008

    power off

  • Anonymous Aug 04, 2008

My T773 will go into shutdown mode after getting warm (averages about 30 minutes). I had this problem a year ago and took it to a local authorized repair center. They said there were many cracked solder joints on the power supply board and replaced a filter capacitor. The problem didn't reappear until about a month ago.

I would never, repeat never, buy another NAD product. I spend $1500 on this receiver.

My Harmon-Kardon AVR520 shuts down at random times. It did this when I first had it, then it quit for years, and now it's back again. I have done two recommended resets, unplug for 30 min and restart, reset all the memory using two console buttons. It doesn't shut down as often now but still eventually shuts down.

I found the solution for me! I had the problem where after 1-5 seconds, my receiver would simply shut down. Twice now I've solved it.

The problem is most likely that you have speaker wire that is touching the opposite terminal or coming close to doing so. Check all your speaker wire terminals and make sure that they are not touching at all or coming close.

Also, make sure that your speaker wires are truly in speakers. If you have speakers plugged into the back of your receiver and then sitting out on the other end, that could be the problem as well.

I hope that helps - it solved it for me!

I had wires on a speaker that were touching.  Once I corrected this the power stayed on.

My friend kept turning it up and i kept turning it back down then it just said poweroff

Sounds like your "friend" has cooked something. It could be one of your speakers (do they all sound ok for the 5 seconds it runs?), or it could be the receiver....
I would try disconnecting all the speakers and see if it stays on. If so, it may be one of the speakers. Connect them one at a time, and see if you can tell.

Protron tv 3250 tv went off. only blue light blinks

Your TV has two poweroff functionalities. First power off button is on saver mode least displaying any transmitter programs. Using the remote control to power off the device achieves screen saver poweroff mode. Second manually pressing on the power button after power saver mode has been achieved with the remote control device should shut down the TV tube entirely. The blue light should not display in whihc instance. Howerever, a full power off mode is incapable of being controlled by the remote control device whenver poweron is required later. The TV power shut down button has to be pressed again to alow for current circulation once more. Powering off the TV with the button on the set requiries momentary duration waits whenever to achieve display of signals depending on the size of the TV, and how many pheriperal device connnections are attahced to it.
refer to the TV user manual for possible diagnostic to any persistant conditions.
Good luck

VSX-D457 Display's power off and then shutdown

Most likely it needs one of the output ICs. But check for cold solder rings on the ground connections of the input board. Est. for it to be repaired $100-$120

Sigmatel s4 is not starting

A Sigmatel S4 is a kind of cell phone dude.
1 - Get the manual for it.
2 - Read the manual for it.
3 - Take the battery out of it, wait 10 minutes, put the battery back in and start from scratch setting things the way you want them to be.
4 - If none of that works take the phone to your provider and get them to fix it or trade it for a not broken one.

Proview Pl926wbi

This is an inverter board problem. The inverter supplies the high voltage and frequency to run the CCFL backlights. The board has a sensing circuit to shut down the output if too much current is going to the backlights or it will shut down if the transistors overheat. I have replaced transistors on some boards with higher rated transistors and they have worked great for years. Sometimes it is just a cold solder joint on the inverter board. Replacement boards are expensive but not too difficult to replace. Repair requires some ability with electronic boards and should not be attempted if you do not posess the skill. You could end up damging other parts that cost more.

My computer shuts down after 3 secs

Try to separate the power cord of your monitor from your system or maybe if your using UPS(uninterrupted power supply) directly plug the UPS to the wall outlet. either you can use pretty voltage regulator to the regulate the AC power.
if not solve the problem try to examine the your system power supply.
