Hello
If that did not work, let's try to force a reboot. If you have a leather cover on it, remove it. The battery charging circuits are controlled by the software as well. If the software isn't allowing the Kindle to accept a proper charge, it may cause the Kindle to malfunction too. Plug the Kindle into the charger for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes and while still plugged in, slide or press and hold the switch for one minute. Make sure you don't disconnect the power during this entire process. Allow 3 minutes afterward for the Kindle to reboot. If this doesn't correct the problem, let me know the approximate purchase date of your Kindle.
However, sometimes when it locks up you can't tell because the screen goes dark, either ... it's already on but is locked up and thus won't charge or work properly. ... 15 minutes to make sure it gets enough charge, and then try turning it on again. ... If this tip (or anything else on my site) helps solve your Kindle Fire problem ...
Not familiar with this but it should have a light next to the charge port. Yellow needs charging, green charged. If you get nothing try another cord. If still the same contact Amazon. Amazon. com, click on "Your account", choose Your account at top of page. On far right of page find Kindle help home. On left of next page click contact us. Leave a message and ask for phone call. They will call back soon as possible. I'm sorry to say it could be a faulty device but Amazon help desk will have the answers for you.
This happened to my daughter's early kindle. Basically, it's an intrinsic fault and cannot be fixed. I called Amazon and after a firm but polite conversation they supplied a new one. However this was a year or more ago. You may simply have to buy a new one. Sorry :-(
sounds like you did everything right
could call amazon see if they can help
or do a factory reset to eliminate software problems you will lose all your data
then there is hardware problems dead battery that won't recharge bad cable connection inside kindle
I had the exact same problem, called Amazon, and they are sending me a new one immediately. it should be here tomorrow. And I have heard complaints about their customer service- NONE here. :) * 1-866-321-8851 (if you are calling from within the US)
