DVDs freeze every few seconds while playing

Seems your laptop DVD player's laser diode lost it's capacity. If it is not that old, try the followings:
1. Blow some air with a watch air blower or an air can. Try the DVD/CD which freezes. If this doesn't work
2. Put a drop of lens cleaner and wipe with caution to the lens. Wait for a few second and try playing the DVD/CD. Don't use force when cleaning the lens. This should be just touch and wipe action.

If this is not the case and the drive is old, you need to replace the drive. This should cost about 30$ to 45$. I did mine last month.

Clean Lens with Lens cleaner & cotton than still same problem than only change Lens

it might be the programs your using to burn your dvds try using windows dvd maker if you have the operating system vista or convert x to dvd if you have xp that should work

PowerBook G4 is at least a five-year-old machine at this point. A DVD drive can **** in lots of dust in five years. Try hooking up to an external DVD drive. If it plays the same discs with no problem, you need a cleaning or replacement. Frankly, an external DVD drive is cheaper than replacing your internal drive.

Hello, this is more than likely the media you're using. The best to use for this are verbatim-r or taiyo yuden-r dvds. Also, could be your burner. Imgburner is the most popular one used which is free

try unplugging the unit for a few minutes..region 2 doesn't work on older dvd players/recorders..the newer ones may handle it...try the computer...and see if that can play it...

I read the other people's problems with the same type DVD player and discovered that the player is only covered by a 30 day warranty...and it would cost more to fix than it is worth. I will just never buy another Poloroid......a lesson learned! I will use our laptop to play the 30 minute DVD's that the player won't play and when the player dies, it dies!

If it's a very cheap unit, it's possibly because the machine can't process the information quickly or efficiently enough, thusly causing the picture to freeze up while the processing catches up with it. Friend has a $30 unit, which happens to constantly.
