Where is the lid switch located on my GE Harmony washer?

My GE profile harmony washer will not drain

Use a putty knife to remove the front panel first/
The putty knife will insert between thr top of the lid and the front panel about 2 inches in from each side.
The panel will pull forward then up to remove it.
Then remove the screws holding the lid down.
You may have to open the control console to remove the lid.

The Ge washer claims it has detected a problem. How do I clear it? There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the unit.

Thanks very much, but my husband found a way to remove the lid on the washing machine. There are 3 screws on each side of the lid that have to be unscrewed in order to remove the lid.

It sounds like the switch for the lid might be defective or a wire for the switch may have come loose. Verify that the switch is till there. You might have to di-assemble washer to repair or replace switch. It will be located somewhere under the lid or could be built into the lid hinge.

You might have a faulty lid switch mechanism or trash in the pump or both. MANUAL

Kevin, the switch is magnetic operation. You will have to remove the top to get at it. Do this by removing the back panel. Inside the panel on the left side will be 4 harnesses. Disconnect them. Remove the pressure switch hose from the tub. Remove the ground wire. In back on each side of the top panel there will be 2 phillip screws, remove them. Now lift the top from behind and slide foward. The whole top comes off. The lid switch will be on the underside just in front of the dispensor. You can test the sensor by using a magnet. Just open the lid and place a magnet just in front of the dispensor on the left side. The washer should work with the lid up. Catriver
