How do i get a g-mail icon on my desk top

What mail program are you using?

Go to Start locate the mail program you are using.
left click and hold on the mail icon and drag it to your desktop.
Or Right click and left click on send to and left click on desktop.

if you ave one on your desk top right click and click add to quick launch
if no desk top icon create one to desk top from start menu first in same fashion then from desk top to quick launch

Try with other browser to login into account,and send email.
try mozilla firefox

right click & go to properties. click change icon, select & apply

OK what OS are you using..I am assuming Xp or Vista...I am assuming XP

These are desktop icons not system tray icons right...

This is for XP only if they are desktop icons...

To resolve this behavior, turn on the Show Desktop Icons feature:

1. Right-click the desktop.
2. Point to Arrange Icons By.
3. Click Show Desktop Icons.

try restoring your system.... for that click on start->all programs--> Accesories--> System Tools --> System Restore. then a calender will appear ...roll back ot prevous date when ur desktop worked properly..click on the bold dates on the calender and then restore.... this will solve ur issue..
