Monitors have brightness and contrast setup on them usually in a menu. A lot of monitors have a 1 button self correction that may work for you also
SOURCE: Computer monitor text overlaps/overwrites and can't be read
This is simply a problem of RAM .Replace your And then see what happens.
I think your problem will be solved

hi
reduce the resolution to a bit lower and the refresh rate to a nominal 60hz and things should get back to normal
my hunch is u r using a slightly high resolution and refresh rates
but before that try the buttons on the monitor to see if expanding the image sideways or top and bottom would help initially
cheers
pls rate if this was any help

it could be the cheapness or your picture is going out
SOURCE: Samsung 920WM monitor - Color problems, "blotches"
The 920WM has a recommended resolution of 1440x900. If your display properties are set to a higher or lower resolution, there will be ugly effects on videos, photos and fine text.
If you're running WindowsXP, minimize your apps and web browser so you can see the background.
Right-click on the background and select "Properties" to bring up the display properties dialog.
In that dialog, select the "Settings" tab to see the display resolution.
Set that to 1440x900 if it's not already, then hit "OK"
If videos are still blotchy, then check the video playback software to make sure it's not setting it's own resolution.
If that helps, please be sure to hit the "thumbs-up" button for me.
If not, use "add comment" to fill in some more details (XP or Vista? What's the video playback software called? How are you viewing pictures?) and I'll do my best to help!
Check the VGA plug and lead between the monitor and computer.
Does it get worse or better while you move the lead around?
