The lights are on and it sounds like it's running but when you open the doors to the refrigerator and freezer it's hot. It is not under warranty. Is it worth getting repaired?

Thoroughly clean your cooling coils first. See if that helps. Repairmen come expensive but your refrigerant level may be low. Expect $150.00 to $500.00 in repair charges.

The condenser may be iced up.Simple repair, hair dryer to the back of the unit.Do you have it at the highest setting?? NG turn it to mid range #4 or #5. Hope this helped, at least if you call a repair person and suggest it may be iced they may be less likely to rip you off in repairs.

Refrigerator not cooling FRS22WNC

the damper vent door between the freezer and refrigerator isn't opening to let cold air into the refrigerator compartment from the freezer side, its in the upper left corner in the refrigerator behind a grille,if its closed you wont feel cold air flowing in from the freezer sometimes you can shine a light in this area and look in the other compartment and if no light then the doors shut and this is why its not cooling the refrigerator

Both freezer and fridge just stopped cooling. The lights come on when the doors are open and it sounds as if it's trying to run, but no cooling.

The problem can be temperature not set properly or any of fridge or freezer door not closed properly and cool air is getting leaked out. This are basic possibilities which first needs to be checked. But if this possibilities are checked ok and still the problem is same, then its weak compressor issue. Hi,
The problem could be a bad bearing in the condenser or evaporator fans...more likely though is that the evaporator fan is hitting an ice build up on the coils...this can be caused by a bad defrost timer...
more closely check on the sound... you will find it....

a few drops of oil on the fan shafts just ahead of the motor will not hurt either...

Left door open on Sub zero model 650

It went into self protection mode. Just leave it closed and when the compressor cools down enough, it will start. Once the ref starts to cool, the lights and such will come back on.

All of this assumes that no failure was caused by the long run times when the door was open
