Your ram is being used up by apps constantly running in the back ground. Try get rid of apps you don't really need and also download these two apps from google play, "Cleanmaster" and "Batterydoctor" they are the two best apps for keeping your device from running to hot and filling up with useless files etc etc. This should help you :)

Lots of phones get hot, it all depends on what apps you have running and talk time. When you run wifi and bluetooth it uses up power an many phones run hot. In my opinion to hot. My Fire Phone runs hot and the battery lasts shorter than my older phone without all this extra apps. If you turn off bluetooth it will be less hot and if you dont need wifi all the time turn it off until you do need it. No way around this one.

Check your mms settings for Straight Talk , you may have to manually input them , you may also need the internet or APN settings from your network provider

Samsung galaxy s3mini att through straight talk will not send/receive sms or mms after refilling account

I hope this link can help you out.

Usually refilling a phone does not change the apn settings, so you must check it to see if there has been any changes, this what it allows you to access the internet and mms.

Straight talk phone problems

You could try rooting your phone. Rooting a phone is like opening the locked compartment inside your phone. You could get rid of your bloatware programs, and adjust a lot more of neat features, but, USE WITH CAUTION! If you do root your phone incorrectly, your phone could be bricked, which means it can do nothing. If you don't want to risk rooting your phone, you said the display is taking up to 73% of the battery right? You could try turning the brightness down in the options. That's all I know, I hope I helped a little.
