Alba AELKDVD2288 screen pixelates like its poor reception but all other tvs work in the house and even plugged it into a different jack in the house where another tv works fine. any suggestions please?

It is referring to a channel scan - check your menu for that and do it for OTA reception.

POOR AERIAL SIGNAL, CHECK THE COAX JACK IS ON PROPERLY. NO OUTER STRANDS OF WIRE SHOULD BE TOUCHING INNER COPPER CORE. OR CHANGE CABLE & GO INTO THE BACK OF A SKY BOX TO THE TV, THEN RESCAN.

if it has multible colors the yellow has to go to the green top plug and red and white go to the furthist away from the green plug.

Poor reception on some digital channels

If possible either move the set to a room with no reception issue to see if same there or move another set to where this one is.

Usually a set does not have a problem if only certain channels.

Swap the set(looking for loose or damaged connection where cable crimps to fitting) if you can.

Pixelation of TV channels via Settop box

Pixelation is caused by poor signal strength. Check the signal strength in the setup section. Unfortunately some boxes and TVs don't handle poor signal as well as others. It might be worthwhile trying a signal amplifier

You need to make sure that is has enough signal, if you have poor signal, you will get pixels(as oppesed to snowy picture on CRT televisions) make sure all plugs are plugged in correct, and try diff inputs from DirecTV to the Tv to ensure its not the HDMI input thats faulty. Good Luck.

Bro the reception in that area of the house must be poor, as you've said. The walls in that area of the house must be too thick, or some part of the house is blocking the signal that the attena emits. You should consider getting an antenna that can be placed outside the house, like on the roof top. Make sure it isn't being blocked by anything, like trees with large branches or whatever.
