My radio shack 200 channel scanner is stuck on one channel, it will not scan, I can change channels manually but the scan does not work...I tried turning it off and holding down the 2 and 9 and turning it back on to just clear it but that didn't even work...any suggestions?

Make sure the squelch is turned clockwise, volume control is turned clockwise, and the audio should be silent until a station comes alive.

SOURCE: 1000 scanner radio shack

press the manual button a few times, and make sure there are actually some freq. programmed into the unit. if there are freq other than 000.000000 in there, press the s/s (lockout) button and see if this unlocks the frequencies to allow them to be scanned.

SOURCE: I have a radio shack pro 94 scanner that gets

Getting "stuck" indicates that the scanner may need to be reset to restore proper operation. This is a fairly drastic step that will erase ALL information that you've programmed into the scanner, but it's about the only fix. To reset the PRO-94:

- Turn the scanner OFF

- While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, power the scanner ON.

- CLEAR will flash for about 5 seconds as the scanners clears its memory and restores factory settings. Do not turn the scanner OFF or press any keys until the CLEAR message stops flashing.

Will not scan properly

Hello

I suppose you are trying to scan the channels by hand, If I'm not mistaken this model can also be hooked up to the pc.

Manual pages 55 and forward are on scanning, I suppose you have been throught those.

I't must be a simple setting wrong somewhere.

My radio shack pro 433 scanner started scanning real slow how can I fix it

I checked the manual and there is nothing that says that the scanning speed can be changed. It is locked at 90 channels per second. There are a number of delays that can be set on channels when scanning. Putting delays on channels can slow down the scanning, as can having your squelch too loose.

How do clear the scanner to re program it

Programming a frequency into a channel clears the previous channel entry, so there's really no need to "clear" the scanner for reprogramming. To eliminate an unwanted frequency, you can either press the LOCKOUT key to prevent the scanner from stopping on a specific channel, or you can "zero" a channel:

1. Press SCAN/MAN to stop
scanning.
2. Use the number keys to enter
the channel number (1-200)
you want to clear.
3. Press PGM. F=C appears.
4. Press 0 then ENT. The
frequency number changes to
000.0000 to indicate the
channel is cleared.

V-scan channels missing

Sounds like all that is happening is that the channels are locked out, you need to go through manually and unlock them. I have the same scanner and that is what I needed to do.

All channels are locked

The above reset does work. I took it to Radio Shack and the guy reloaded my freq.

Sorry about the false report.
