Dvd player keeps turning its self on

What brand/model #? It could be that it is in demo mode, and scrolls info across the display. Should be able to turn off demo in the setup menu somewhere if that's what it is.

My navman f35 keeps going into demonstration mode while traveling to a chosen set destination ..about every 10 minutes i have to keep resetting it which is impossible when i am driving it is dangerous

The problem is that from the settings, the demo mode is set as a kind of screen saver option, you need to go to the menu, settings and turn it off. It is indeed very dangerous trying to set your gps while driving so You need to park your car somewhere safe, then you go to the menu and turn off the demo mode, after turning it off, it will stop showing the demo mode.
Hope this piece of information was helpful

It will play DVD's & CD's.But NO games!

I HOPE EVERYONE READS THIS AS IT'S LIKELY A (FREE) SOLUTION TO YOUR WOES.

My ps3 recently conked out on me and the local game store (and the internet) told me it was a broken laser.

I told them that I couldn't play video games, not even ps2 games, but that dvd's could still be watched (check to see if you can do this). They still said it was a broken laser.

When I found out it would be 140 bucks to have it replaced and installed I decided to just download some demos.

HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING.

I went on the playstation network (psn) and downloaded a game demo, installed it, and played it. When I quit out of the demo, the laser was reading and I could play games!

When I turned off the system and tried again the next day, again it didn't work.

I followed the same process. Went into a downloaded game, this time quit right after the demo loaded, and sure enough, the laser was working again!

Every time I quit a game I have to follow this process, but every time it works, too.

So again:

1. download and install a psn game or game demo
2. put the disc of the game you want to play
3. load the psn game or demo as if you were going to play it
4. quit the demo as soon as you get to the start menu of it
5. go and play the game you wanted to, sucka, cause it works now!!!

I hope this works for you, and if it does, spread the word!

Sony DVD player color adjustment (Model #DVP-N5400D)

Solved the problem!Well, After reading two manuals on the Sony DVD player, I saw one cable not connected: the S Video connection. I connected that. Tried it out again, seemed a little better, but still not the full range of reds. At that point I thought the problem was either: 1) the cables from the DVD player to the TV or 2) the DVD player is the problem So, I thought I'd start with replacing the cables. Labeled them as to where they went, took them out and went to Radio Shack and explained my problem. The clerk I spoke to was very nice, said he had seen this problem before, and said there was a menu on the DVD for adjusting RGB settings.
So, I went back home, plugged in the cable, and went all thru the 2 Sony DVD booklets and the display menu on the TV. There was nothing mentioned re: color settings. Went thru the DVD menu many times, looking, looking. I felt I had come up with nothing.
Turned everything off. Turned back on. Put in a DVD: It looks great! :)
So, hoping it never happens again..cause I'm not sure I can repeat it! Maybe it was removing all the cables from their sockets and restarting...I know that sometimes works with computers...anyway.. At least I didn't have to buy a new DVD! Lesson: unplug, re:plug...before you trash it!
