Question about Hitachi UltraVision 42HDS52 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
Sounds like power supply board. easy fix..remove the back of TV take picture of the insides, and of the power supply board. jot down the part numbers off the board. do not remove till u get the replacement board. be careful back there even if it is unplugged u can get a shock. go to shopjimmy.com or amazon and look for a NEW board using the part # besure it is exact match..

It sounds like a shutdown circuit is being activated. This is normal in cases where the power supply id drawing excessive current. I would suggest that you get this looked at by a qualified professional. This is because this problem may be in the power supply and the voltages can get dangerous in this section of the TV set.
In any event if this is a power supply problem chances are the technician will just have to replace the power supply. Which should cost from 150-250 dollars.

if will tell you how to trouble shoot this tv. these tv's are known for two caps in the power supply to go bad and they need replaced then you have to test the sdr boards if they are bad you need replacement boards or you can send them off to be repaired. the link for the repair guy is on the page. this guy also sells the repair on ebay but if you contact him directly i beleave the price is lower. just tell him you were send over by home theater shack.
