Question about Howard Miller 645-627 Clock Radio

Changed battery and now pendulum wont swing. Clock doesn't operate at all. All was fine until I changed the battery.

Give the pendulum a shove and do it every time you pass the clock. I got mine going from swinging for just 20 seconds to working permanently, at least until the next battery change.

Verichron pendulum wall clock with one D battery
Clock pendulum again (July 2010) would not continue to swing after turning the speed adjustment nut. Last time this happened was when I had to change the battery. My remedy this time: get the pendulum swinging and do not let it stop for 15 -20 minutes. You might need a chair and definitely patience.

The pendulum on my grandfather clock no longer works .. It is not a problem with batteries . It just no longer moves .

Clock may either need to be decked out from the wall at the top, or pushed all the way up against the wall. These clocks have inexpensive quartz movements that aren't of the highest quality. If the clock is more than a few years old, it may be that the electromagnet that impulses the pendulum back and forth has just expired. You might try Clockit.com, or maybe Timesavers.com to find a replacement movement. Hope this helps, Good Luck

You can find a replacement pendulum unit there. Your pendulum mechanism probably has a bad coil. The coil is extremely difficult to repair.

I have an Elgin Westminister Quartz Chime clock. Everything works fine, except the pendulum does not swing, anymore. Can I fix this or can I buy parts to fix this problem?

I have a clock with a pendulum and it has two batteries, one for the clock and one for the pendulum.

Perhaps your is the same?

I do not know how to start the clock : Clock under glass. Has three balls supposed to swing. I replaced the battery.

Lift the glass and swing the pendulum/balls. Or you could, if it's small enough to hold in your hand, suddenly twist it, there by using inertia to swing the pendulum.
