Question about Fuji FinePix Cameras
Can't shut the door so it won't work
Yes, but you would most likely (don't quote me) have to send it back to the manufacture to get it fixed. That means $$$, is there a way for you to tape it on? You really only need the metal piece/plate touching the batteries.

I know this is an old question, but when I had this problem I came across several forums that had the "tape it" or "drill a hole and screw it shut" solutions. Some even gave step by step instructions on taking the camera apart and replacing the battery compartment with one from a camera bought for parts. I even contacted Fujifilm for an estimate. All were either expensive, ineffective or damaging. The solution I came up with was to go to the Camera Exchange and buy a Quick Release plate used for tripods. One that was long enough to cover the battery door. It screws into the tripod mount on the back and holds the door closed. No damage, no hole drilling and it works. Also only cost me $8. Win!
