SOURCE: replaced empt 3E cartridge. Now it won't print

I had removed and reinstalled the empty 3e cartridge. Sorry for the Confusion. I hadn't put a new 3e cartrige in until today. Them I ran " deep clean" twice. The printer works fine. I still don't understand why the printer wouldn't print color, when I was had set the printer to print in color when my 3e cartridge was empty and all colors including the 6 black showed full.

SOURCE: new cartridge won't print

  1. Make sure you removed the tape from the ink cartridge.
  2. Press the <Menu> button on the printers operation panel.

  3. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select [MAINTENANCE].

  4. Press the <Set> button.

  5. Press [<] or [>] to select the cleaning setting you want. Select [HEAD CLEANING] for normal print head cleaning. Select [HEAD REFRESHING] for deep print head cleaning.

Note: [HEAD REFRESHING] uses more ink than [HEAD CLEANING], so perform [HEAD REFRESHING] only when necessary.

  6. Press <Set>.

  7. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern and perform at least two Head Refreshing if the pattern is not correct.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

SOURCE: Canon iP90 stopped printing in BLACK

hi... it might be that you need some time to let the ink absorb into the pads in the print heads ... this can take between a few hours and a day... Must be frustrating to deep clean three times and just seem that you are wasting ink cartridges, my "solution" would be to give it time or possibly clean the print heads manually.. hope it will solve it out..

thank u!!

SOURCE: Changed ink cartrigde and printer no longer printing.

microsoft logo is in colour and so its printing while everything else on test page is black so its not printing. the problem is common.you need to do automatic deep cleaning for the ink flow to start once you install new cartridges.go to printer maintanance option and click the option deep cleaning .it will pull out the ink in printer head and it will start working.sometimes also requires cleaning twice. thanks and do not forget to accept the solution.

7525 photosmart printer will not print text black ink. will print photos but will not print or copy black documents I cleaned printheads ,aligned printer. installed cartridge to new

Most likely the printhead is clogged still. There is really nothing else you can do besides replace the printhead. I would recommend a genuine new printhead if you can find one on eBay as I have tried the cheaper Chinese ones which are hit and miss.

I have changed out my black ink cartridge and now it says Attention: Print head loose, missing or not installed correctly.

Had exactly the same issue - working fine until ink cartridge changed (kodak for kodak - not a copy). Then can only get 'print head error message'.
Multiple attempts to remove and re-install, power on/off etc. but can't shift the error message. New print head more expensive than a new printer!

Kodak esp 5210 wont print black

I figured it out. If you are low on (25%) on either colors or black, then it won't print. Even if you load a new black cartridge and it reads as 100% black, it won't print because it will only print when BOTH cartridges have been replaced and reads 100%.
Same thing happens reversed with color being replaced.
So basically, ALL printers short you 25% ink and FORCE you to buy their ink more often. Kodak is no exception.
I have 100% black and 25% color and a BW only needed text paper won't print. I been through this before. *facepalm*

I have a Brother MFC 790cw that does not print black all the other colors work, I have updated the driver bought a new ink cartrige and used the the clean option for the black ink. I know it is recieving...

Try printing a rest page and if that doesn't print in black ink the printhead is probably blocked.

With some printers the printhead is part of the ink cartridge and such problems tend to disappear when the cartridge is replaced, unless the cartridge is faulty. Other printers use cartridges that are ink and nothing more and those are prone to the printheads drying out and becoming blocked unless they are never allowed to become completely empty of ink and are kept in frequent use.

Cleaning/replacing such a printhead usually needs special tools and experience and in the case of many cheap domestic printers the cost of service far outweighs the cost of replacement.

I've changed the black ink cartridge but it won't print in black

Sounds like there is a problem with your printhead. You need to clean it using the printer itself (menu -- clean printhead -- deep clean). If this does not work, go to kodak.com/go/itg to get your printhead replaced, free of charge.
