I would try re-installing the printer software. If that doesn't work, a simple system restore to a couple of days ago will sort it out.

SOURCE: printer will not cancel print job

Sounds like the printer spool is frozen.

Assuming you're using WinXP and logged in as an administrator (or with admin permissions)

START
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services

Locate the "Print Spooler"
Right click on this and choose "restart"

This will restart the print queue and will probably try to print the job again or delete it properly. If it tries to restart, just right click on the printer job and choose cancel again..

You may need to repeat but that should at least get you back up and running with other print jobs again.

Try stopping the print spooler service and canelling all the documents.

The Windows Print Spooler is a Windows XP "Service". You can start/stop it via the following steps:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. click on Run
  3. enter "services.msc" without the quotes and press Enter
  4. Scroll down to Print Spooler
  5. Single-Click on Print Spooler
  6. The details will open in the middle of the window.
    • It probably shows Start -- if so, Start it.
    • If it shows Stop and Restart, I suggest Stop it, then Start it.

Microsoft has the help you need for this issue and I wont try to give you long and possibly misleading information on here.
It is a common problem but the answer is here

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946737

You need to refer to method "D" about half way down the page
Once you clear the print job check you dont have any extra printers installed as quite often happens in these situations. If you have then delete your extra printer installations.

PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT THERE IS A JOB THAT WON'T CLEAR. I TRIED DELETING THE JOB AND ALL IT SHOWS IS THE JOB DELETING AND THATS WHERE IT'S STUCK

To clear the print queue from stuck print jobs, try this approach instead:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

My z35 printer wont print. It is on and wired correctly but when I push print nothing happens. i have enough ink

Try to check if you have Print jobs stucked in the queue and if you do have just delete them first and try to print. Also, you can try to disconnect the printer from the power by disconnecting the black box at the back of the printer where the power is attached. Wait for 20 seconds and connect back the power brick. If the printer doesn't turn on automatically you can press the power button. Then you can try to print again if the printer is ready. If still the same I would suggest contacting Lexmark Technical Support. Thanks.

We have a spooling problem. The sharp mx-2300n just says "ripping" and 20% complete but won't move from there and print anything. Can cancel print job from Mac but won't stop anything at the printer end....

Go into the Job review mode and highlight the pending print job (note: it may be stuck in processing). You should then get the option to delete the job.

Make sure that the pending print job is also cleared from the network print queue. They can sit in the queue and be persistent on processing, even after you've cleared the copier. Clear the queue prior to deleting the job on the copier.

If this doesn't, disconnect the copier from your network and try the above steps again, then reboot the copier and reconnect it to your network.

If you're trying to print out Adobe-based web pages from the internet, this may be what's causing your copier to jam up. There's known coding anomalies with Adobe-embedded documents on web pages. Trying to directly print from the web page can stall or lock up the print process.

Hp psc 1410 cannot delete remote redirected print job

There is a option in printer box "Purge Print document" you try that option, After Purge then delete the document, which is still present in your box. At a time turn off the printer. All the pending printing commands will delete.
