Backlight setting does nothing to adjust my screen's brightness.

I can move the backlight slide adjustment back and forth from 0-20 and nothing happens. What board do I swap out for a fix? Anybody have this happen before? And if so, what did you do to fix the problem? Thanks

Control voltage to back-light should come from the main board. The main board to your TV should be troubleshooted. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. This is not a user repairable work. Very skilled one; indeed.

Boss MR1308UAB displau sceen brightness setting control

If the display screen on your Boss MR1308UAB car stereo is completely black and you're unable to find a control setting for brightness, there may be a few possible causes and solutions to consider:
  1. Check the backlight setting: Some car stereos have a separate setting to control the backlight or illumination of the display screen. Look for an "Illumination" or "Backlight" setting in the main menu or settings menu of the stereo. Adjust the setting to ensure that the backlight is turned on and set to an appropriate level.
  2. Check the dimmer setting: Many car stereos have a dimmer function that adjusts the brightness of the display screen based on the ambient light conditions. Check if the dimmer setting is enabled and set to an appropriate level. If the dimmer is set to its lowest level or turned off, the display screen may appear black. Adjust the dimmer setting to increase the brightness.
  3. Verify the connection: Ensure that the wiring connections between the car stereo and the vehicle's electrical system are secure. A loose or faulty connection could cause the display screen to appear black. Double-check the wiring harness and connections to make sure they are properly plugged in.
  4. Reset the stereo: Try performing a system reset on the car stereo. This can help to clear any temporary glitches or issues that may be affecting the display screen. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset specific to your model.

I have a LG 55uk6300 and I have sound and some lights on screen buy no picture, I bought a T-Con board but that wasn't it I heard it might be the back lights.

  • Check the connections: Make sure all the cables connecting your TV to external devices are properly plugged in and secure.
  • Adjust the backlight settings: Access the TV's settings menu and look for the backlight settings. Try adjusting the brightness and contrast to see if it affects the picture.
  • Check the power supply board: If the TV is not receiving sufficient power, it can cause issues with the backlight. Check the power supply board for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
  • Test the backlight: Use a flashlight to shine on the screen and see if there is any image. If there is an image, it is a good indication that the backlight is not functioning properly.
  • Replace the backlight: If you have confirmed that the backlight is faulty, it may need to be replaced. This is a more complicated repair and may require professional help.
  • If none of these steps work, it is possible that the issue is more complex and may require further troubleshooting or repair.

Backlight spoilt for dsc t90

When the display is to dark or to light, the manual says:
Adjust the brightness of the backlight (page 18).
On page 18 it says:
This sets the brightness of the LCD screen. When viewing images in bright outside light if [Brightness] is set to [Normal], reset to [Bright]. However, the battery power may decrease faster under such condition.
You also can press the button with the > logo, to change between view pictures and record.

How do you turn on the Backlight on the screen?

If the screen backlight is not on, first try adjusting the brightness.
Press TV/AV button on remote to select TV mode. Press the MENU button on the remote. Using the arrow keys (navigation buttons), choose picture mode and adjust the brightness and contrast.
If your TV screen is still not lighting up in a dim room, then the backlight is broken.

Dark screen

if the picture is REALLY dark, like you can just barely see it in a lit room, then the backlight might not be lit. LCD TVshave backlight that shines through the LCD screen which allows you to see the picture.

If it's not the backlight then it would be the brightness/contrast settings that need to be adjusted. If the picture used to be normal and all of a sudden went dark, verify the backlight. Normally you can look through the slots on the top of the set and determine if the backlight is on. If you can see a bright light through any of the slots, the backlight is probably OK... go after the brightness/contrast settings.

Series Back Light

It is possible that by holding the power button down too long, that you turned off the backlight. When you hold down the power button, a menu eventually comes up with "Backlight Off" highlighted. The easiest way to undo this, is to simply do a soft reset. Or, you can hold down the power button again, and "Backlight On" will be highlighted (if there's enough ambient light you can see this message); just tap it, and the backlight will come on again. Also check out your backlight settings by tapping: [Start][Settings]tab[System][Backlight] the tab [Battery Power] should be highlighted; adjust as desired. Next tap the tab [External Power]; adjust as desired. Finally, tap the tab [Brightness] and make sure the sliders are high enough.
