Hold down the shift button for a few seconds to disable sticky keys. This is a windows feature to help people with disabilities and is activated and disabled by holding the shift button down for a few seconds. You can also disable it under start menu/programs/accessories/accessibility

Arrow keys not working

Have you booted up into safe mode to see if the arrow keys work? Maybe your keyboard has been hijacked by a virus. Maybe the keyboard cable needs to be reseated (pulled out and put back in).

In the meantime you can get your arrow keys by using the Virtual Keyboard and use your mouse to point and click on the arrow key when you want it.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click the link to goto the site and look on the left side when the site opens up and you will see agray area that says FIND SOFTWARE. In the white search box under FindSoftware type: "Virtual Keyboard" (without the quotes) and click themirror to search. When the search results come back look for FREE VIRTUALKEYBOARD. Download and Install it. It's totally FREE. Alsouncheck anything that pops up other than the license agreement during thedownload and installation. You only want the Free Keyboard and not theother junk.

You can use it to solve your keyboard problem. Just open up whatever it is youwant to type on such as the web address in an browser, a word document, etc.,then open the Free Virtual Keyboard and it will sit on top of whatever you weredoing. You can move it around so that it is not in your way also.

Hp laptop keyboard won't type "b n 1"or ''tab esc'' other keys ok..

Either your keyboard cable needs to be reseated or your keyboard is going bad and needs to be replaced. The keyboard cable is under the keyboard and it attaches to a slot on the motherboard. You'll have to partially disassemble the laptop to get to it. Hopefully you're not having this problem because you spilled a liquid on the keyboard.

Here's a fail safe alternative. Bring up google's website www.google.com and in the search box type "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes) and click the link to go to their site. When the site comes up look immediately to the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type in "free virtual keyboard" (without the quotes) and click the mirror to search. It will bring back a page and the Free Virtual Keyboard is listed first. Look to the right of it and click the Download Now button. Download and install it. Once it is install you can look in Start/Programs and right click on it and select Pin to Start Menu then right click again and select Desktop (Create Shortcut). It's a neat keyboard to have just in case your real keyboard goes bonkers. You simply click on the letter with your mouse pointer that you want. It has all the functionality of a physical keyboard. You can open a web page, place your mouse in the address line then bring up the virtual keyboard by clicking on it from your desktop or start menu and it will sit on top of whatever you were trying to do. You can move it to see the typing area as you click on a letter. It works the same way if you opened a word document. In your case anytime you need the space bar, just click on it.

How do i turn my screen back the right way

How to Rotate a Computer Screen 90 Degrees

Perhaps you built your own monitor, and the screen is displaying at the wrong angle now that it's all set up. Maybe you installed a new graphics card or driver, and it appears something has gone horribly wrong. It's possible you're just being creative, and think it would be cool to lay your monitor on its side and still be able to use the computer. Or, most likely, your cat or kids pressed some mysterious key combination which rotated your screen for you, and you can't get it back. Don't worry; getting your screen to rotate 90 degrees is easier than you think.

1 Identify in which direction your screen needs to be rotated. There are four shortcut key combinations, and each will rotate your screen so that the top of the screen is at the top, bottom, left or right side of your monitor; you need to know which combination to choose. Say you are you trying to correct a mistake, and put the top of your screen back where it belongs--at the top of the monitor. Or you are trying to rotate your screen because you are using your monitor differently than most people do, and want the top of the screen to be at the left or right side of the monitor, or even upside-down.

2 Hold down "Ctrl + Alt" and the "up" arrow key if you want to return the top of your screen to the top of the monitor. "Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow" will rotate your screen so that the top of the display is on the left side of your monitor, and using the Right Arrow will put it at the right side. The Down Arrow will turn your screen upside down if your monitor is right side up. Make sure you hold all three keys down long enough; the screen may go back for a moment as the screen is rotated.

3 Open your "Control Panel" if nothing is happening, and see if there is an option to "Enable Screen Rotation" under your Display options. If not, you may not be able to rotate your screen. This is especially common with older computers, as they have older graphics cards or integrated video If you have a newer computer, you may need to have the graphics drivers updated in order for the shortcut to work.

Tips & Warnings

If pets or children accidentally rotated your screen, consider finding a way to better protect your keyboard not just from accidental keystrokes, but from pet hair and kids' spills. A keyboard cover might be in order.

Cat sat on laptop changed screen brightness. its to dark how do i brighten monitor

There is a master function key that you hold down while tapping another function located on the keyboard. This all depends on the model of laptop. Next time try to giva a little more info like make and model, which is located on the bottom. The function key or Fn key is usually located on the keyboard near the Alt and Control key lower left. while holding this key down, you tap the corresponding brightness key on the number of the keyboard, some times the brightness is on the 4 arrows on the right side of the keyboard...sometimes they are the numbers 6 or 7 look for what appears to be a symbol that looks like the sun or a light. Hold down Fn and tap the key that brightens the display.

Slow Keypad with sticking space bar

Clean your keyboard, try to blow it out with compressed air, and also take a barely wet rag or Q-tip and clean out the gunk. You might be able to pop the keys off and clean in there, make sure the power is off or even unplug it. Even try to unplug the keypad and plug it in, and/or reboot the device.
