There is no power to my Filter Queen power nozzle. I have cleaned the connection and there is still nothing.

The rest of the vacuum works fine, just nothing from the power head.

First check the little reset button on the rear of the power head. press it and see if that helps. if not unplug all connections from the hose to the wand and the wand to the head. now plug the head into the hose directly and see if that works. if it does, you have a bad connection at one end of the wand and will need to replace the wand... look on amazon for a replacement... if you want ripped off call
filter queen.

It is true that a reset button may be the problem, although that happens very rarely. The other info you gave is incorrect. Amazon is not the best choice and although a Filter Queen only dealer may be too expensive, a vacuum shop that sells and services all brands is not only the best choice, but in most cases the least expensive choice. Guessing at the problem and ordering parts online is a waste of time and money. I also should mention, If you don't support your local econmy, you will not have as many choices in the future and your local economy will suffer . Always buy local if possible.

The most common failure is the pigtail that connects from the hose to the outlet on the front of the canister. Take it to your local vacuum cleaner repair shop and they will help you determine where the problem is. Most shops don't charge anything for this type of help.

There is an electrical connection at the canister end and again at the beater end. If the beater is not working it is mostly that this is where you problem is. You need to test first to see if there is power at the canister end and then at the beater end. If there is no power at the canister it could be the outlet or something internal. If there is no power at the beater end then that outlet, or the cord could be the problem. If you have power and that end then the problem is likely within the wiring in the beater or in the motor itself

I bought 2 used filter queens. Does the power head always bog down to the point of stalling out when vacuuming. Very strange for a high end vacuum.

I shouldn't. Check the power nozzle brush to make sure it's clean. Remove thread, hair, etc. that may be wrapped around the brush.
Check the tautness of the belt. If it's too tight it will cause strain on the motor, which will result in this.
Check the ends of the brush. They may need cleaned, or the bearings may need replaced.
I highly recommend taking it to an authorized Filter Queen distrubuter for diagnosis and repair.

There are instructions for replacing the brush at the following site, if you decide to do it yourself.

Whenever we use our central vac the power cuts in and out often. It happens at all outlets. When I borrowed the neighbour's hose it did the same thing. So I assume I can rule out a short in the hose. Any...

Not necessarily. If the neighbors have the same problem, it could still be the hose. Try your hose at their place.
You can also use their hose AND power nozzle at your place. If their power nozzle works fine, then it's loose or worn wiring in your power nozzle or connection. Also, you can try your power nozzle at their place to double check.
Check your power nozzle connection for discoloring, breaks, cracks, etc. Take to a shop to check internal wiring.

I got a used filter queen majestic vacuum at a yard sale and want to fix it up and start with new filters where do i get the filters and how do i change them

Hello,

Well you bought a really great vacuum cleaner. The Filter Queen's are extremely durable and very well made vacuums. They sell brand new for over $2500, so picking one up at a yard sale was a great find by you.

There are several different filters on this model that need to be replaced. Here's a link to a 6 month supply kit that we sell, which contains all the filters needed for a 6 month period:

The only other part that you should be replaced on a regular basis is the belt (only if the vacuum has a motorized power nozzle for cleaning carpets). The belt should be changed every 6 months or so. Even if it doesn't break, these belts will stretch out and not work as well as a new belt would. Here's a link to the belt that will fit your Filter Queen Majestic:

Here's a link to the owner’s manual for a newer Majestic model. This is the only one that is available online. Even though it's a newer model, the maintenance and care will be exactly the same for your model.

I really hope this was the information that you needed. If you have any follow up questions, please don't hesitate to ask them by using the comment box here on the Fixya repair page.

If this did help you, please be so kind and rate my repair helpful, or leave some feedback for me. This is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Getting power to attatchment?

There has been a recall on the hose, wand, and power nozzle. Mine just caught fire! Burned a whole in my carpet. I'd contact their customer service department and find out if yours is on the recall list.

No air pressure to **** up dirt

First test suction on unit without the hose, is there suction? If yes, attach hose and test. If no go to the door to outside, attach hose to the top of unit where it blows (under handle on top), put hose out door and turn on. The stuff clogging the hose should blow out the end.

If it wasn't the hose check the wand, and then the power nozzle and using the above to clear obstruction.

Broken belt on filter queen majestic power nozzle

Hi,
Try removing the roller assembly again, and check the end bearing pieces are the correct way around. Often they have 2 or more settings.
Check all debris is removed from location slots, and see if the roller is actually going into position before the cover is attatched.
