Your unit only has a Dolby Pro Logic decoder in it so all you need to do is run the composite audio (which is the red & white cable to the proper audio input and all 5 speakers will play, you can also buy that DCS AC3 converter but you would be better off getting a new AVR that can do HDMI inputs and output, units range from 5.1 to 11.2 and now Dolby Atmos, I have the Yamaha RX-A3020 which can do 11.2 those numbers refer to the amount of speaker you can use so even though mine can do 11.2 right now I run it in 5.1 which means 3 across the front which are your left, center, and right speakers a to rear side speakers which are surround right and left so the 3 in the front and the 2 in the back make 5 and the.1 refers to the subwoofer which only needs a tenth of the signal so that equals 5.1, when I move I will run my unit in a 7.2 format and the .2 means two subwoofers and the 7 refer to my 3 speakers in the front, a rear right and left and a side left and right so that equal 7 speakers and the subwoofers will be the .2 so that adds up to 7.2.

I tried hooking the red and white cable dire tly and it won't work. I don't know why.
The TV is going to output the sound at either a fixed or variable level and most tv's give you the choice with either a switch on the back of the tv or it is done in the menus of the tv, if you have the choice set your tv for fixed because if it is set at variable then the volume of the tv is the output level. So make sure you are using the correct outputs on the back of the tv to go to the inputs of your yamaha receiver, make sure you then set the selection switches on the front of the yamaha to match the input you are using. when you run a test are you hearing white noise come out of each spkr when it tests that speaker? and the radio is working and you can hear that just fine?
Alguien que me pueda saludar tengo un Yamaha rx-v592 le conecto todos los speakers pero solo un subwofer funciona supuestamente trae para instalar 2 no se si no sirve la otra entrada o no se que pasa

Looking over the specs and capabilities of the rxv592 there isn't a digital input so you will need to provide component inputs to the '6 CH DISCRETE INPUT DVD/LD TV/DBS' plugs on the back. Some DVD/Blue Ray players have component outputs, but most use HDMI for the surround channels. My Uverse (cable box) does not have discrete outputs, but I'm not sure about other providers. (?)
Here is the manual I found for the RX-V592 :
Yamaha RX V592 Owner Manual Connections
You need something like this:
Digital to Analogue 5.1 converter:

I have never used one of these before, but i have worked in the audio industry and if this device works as advertised it will suit your needs.
SOURCE: yamaha reciever rx-v363
Thats because if you look in the owner's manual, it declares the fact that it will only broadcast sound from hdmi to monitor not speakers. For sound out of speakers need to connect additional audio cable.
SOURCE: Playstation 3 audio connection into Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver
Solved problem with Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver. My daughter had inadvertently changed the program to "Direct Stereo" mode which allows sources to bypass the decoders and DSP processors so you can listen to 2-Channel PCM and Analog sources. Nothing to decode digital audio in this setting!
SOURCE: Muffled sound from rear speakers why watching TV
switch the HDMI cables around to make sure its not one of them, if the problem is one of them it will move with the cable,if no change i would suspect the coaxial cable next.

Unless you are having res. issues you can use component / optical / coaxial cables to connect all your devices to your denon and from your denon to your tv using component cables also
SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V365 unable to receive 5.1 audio from TV with HDMI
If you're expecting multichannel sound FROM THE TV instead of from the source you're watching, it's not gonna happen. TV's are notoriously poor sound sources. This one is no different.
Multichannel TV-related audio is best found at its source - cable / sat / dvd / bd....
I run video-related audio from my video sources directly to my TV and their audio directly to my receiver. Specialization yields best results.
I'd recommend skipping the Receiver for video, too, as it adds a lot of opportunity for HDMI-related incompatibilities and sound syncing problems. The more interconnects in the path, the more distorted it will become and the more opportunities for problems. Plus you can bypass the receiver and listen to lo-fi programming like news and weather through the TV's speakers if you like. Save a buck on electricity.
Just curious, which HDMI on the receiver is connected to your TV? Input or Output?
This note is on Page 11 of the manual:
Audio signals input at the HDMI jack are not output from any speaker terminals but output from the connected video monitor. To enjoy the sound from speakers connected to this unit,
-- make an analog or digital connection besides the HDMI connection (see page 13).
-- mute the volume on the connected video monitor
================
"Check SP cable." -- The unit is perceiving a short circuit. Are your speaker impedances sufficiently high? Disconnect the Front Right speaker and try raising the volume again. The speaker may be blown or the cable shorting.
