If the selector button on the unit AND the corresponding button on remote has no effect, then the problem lies with the digital circuit responsible for changing inputs and not the Remote or the selector knob on unit.. I am assuming that the other functions do work.

That puppy needs to be repaired unless you can live with the input that it is stuck on. U might try unplugging the unit for a while and then replugging it. On some newer models this "reboots" the electronics and restores operation

Lightning struck and now no picture on my tv- sound works tho

I think the digital input selector section has got affected. I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation.

Cd & aux (amplification of tv audio) works fine but am/fm tuner no longer works. Troubleshooting suggestions?

open up the unit and find the combo tuner board and check from the selector switch(radio/tape/aux) to the tuner for a loss of power, this has to be the problem because its virtually impossible to lose both a.m. and f.m. at the same time and these are both on the same board where as the other options are on separate boards

Only works in ''Tuner'' mode with ALARM on display

I called the dealer and he told me that the CD-Receiver is sensitive to voltage and it is possibly locked due to an unexpected rise during ignition. The unit has a reset button on the AUX (mini jack) port and after reset, it begun to work properly again. Only trouble now is I have to set my sound and tuner preferences again. No problem :-)

Getting occasional popping sound through speakers. My system consists of preamp, amp, turntable, tuner and cd player. It seems to happen when only using cd player. Hasn't happened when using only tuner or...

Describe your system in greater detail. Does the preamp have a mechanical selector for the tuner/phono/CD or does it have a digital selector that you can operate with a remote? The problem might just be a dirty selector switch that need to be sprayed with Deoxit contact cleaner. It could also be bad cables so try swapping cables with the tuner.

Car radio not working

Sound like you need the manual to this radio, I would have said that there are components inside that go bad that will cause a radio not to light up in the display area. But if you radio is saying tuner, and maybe cd then it would be the selector button that has a problem. Or no antenna is hooked up or come apart.
