Sony Bravia 60-inch flat screen has pixelated video. I have been able to get it to reset by unplugging it and letting it sit for one minute and then plugging it back in. What is the cause and can it
Unplug t reset the power module and then plug it back in. That has worked but it is now happening more often. Just started two days ago.

have you unplugged it for a few minutes and then plugged it in???possiblity its in sleep mode??? Possibility your tv has that sensor that detects movement so that if there is no movement for a period of time it will shut the tv off and possibly broke??
Yikes, thats no good at all. First off, before we do anything big in the menu and setup of the TV have you tried a simple reset where you unplug the TV for at least 3 minutes, let it sit unplugged, and then plug it back in.
Let me know if you have done that, and if the problem persists, there is more we can do.
The T-con board, the board that sit right at the bottom right in the middle of the center LCD panel. That board is dying.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-con board for the replacement.
Are the lines all the way across the screen? or just a few? Solid black - or trannslucent?
Like this??
Horizontal drive has either data, voltage, or control problem from the pixel registry circuit......get it serviced before the problem spreads causing further damage.
However, in all likelyhood, the panel itself is bad. The Bravia line has had a bad rap about the faulty displays, and at $1800 replacement (plus labor) - it may be time to call SONY direct to complain!
had what sounds like the same problem. we had the protection plan and called for assistance. he advised us to unplug the tv for 1 minute. when we plugged back in, problem seemed solved. he could not explain why other than to check online with sony for more technical info about this remedy. stay tunned for whether it was a temporary fix......
What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual with details and illustration. I assume you have KDS-60A2000 TV and if its correct, click Sony Support to download instruction manual copy. Or let me know your TV model number. Thanks.
On the KDFE55A20 this sounds like a bad Q-Box. I would get an estimate from a Sony authorized servicer as this part may be quite expensive. On the 55A10 model this may be the B-Block and is also quite expensive. Getting an on-sit estimate would be the first step I suggest. Again go with an authorized Sony servicer. Call Sony or go to Sony.com for customer service. Good Luck
