No backlight can be caused by the 24vdc power supply failure that feed the backlight inverter boards, or the backlight inverter board went out, or the logic board is not sending the turn on signal to the 24vdc power supply and the inverter board, that is what we need to find out first before jumping the conclusion and buying the wrong parts. Logical steps are needed to do any troubleshooting so we are not making guess buy throwing parts at the problem until the problem is solved, it gets expensive.

My dear friend, this televisions come up with funny problems and leaves people pondering what the cause could be and if it could be fixed. Changing the cables definitely is not the solution as the problem wan from inside of the unit.
Yes The problem can be fixed and No, you do not need to buy a new television.
The problem simply is related to what brings display to the screen. When you are having a picture that flutters. It simply is that the convergence board of the television is burnt out and need to be replaced. You also need to have the t-con board of the television checked along side the lamp. Once you have checked them, you will be able to tell the component that need to be replaced as these are the components related to the display on the screen.
Have a technician run a check on these components (the t-con board, the convergence board and the lamp) Also have him check all the capacitors on all the boards of the television as that could suprisingly be a cause of the problem.
