I bought a car that has this remote starter with it. Time is wrong, and I don't know how to reset it. Can someone help?

This is normally an antenna for a power door opener or a remote starter, if you bought the car used and have no idea about this, you should have a seperate key fob that would operate the remote starter or the remote keyless entry

This procedure is knowed as "soft reset", and you will must keep in mind that, if some anti-theft system is instaled there, the no start condition could appears after disconneting the battery.

Additionally, could try and check if the starter is cranked when turn ignition key, or no click sounds there? Could be a battery charge, starter or ignition swtich issue.

Programming the Viper Remote Starter 5101

Unlock the doors before starting

Push and hold f button for 8-10 seconds until amber light is on solid

Push Remote start button for about 4 seconds till amber light flashes 3 times

Put key in IGN to the on position but don

the remote starter is not going to damage the starter, but if wired wrong it could damage the wiring or fuses, or run the battery down from a short.

I don't know if this helps you,but it may help someone, if you set the lock on this model and forget the four digit code enter 8034 on your remote doing this will switch the tv off, turn your tv back on, after your tv is on you will see the first time installation guide, select your language retune your tv, the code will reset back to 0000. In the book it says this password cannot be reset, it also says the first time(and only the first time) you turn on your tv set, you see an installation guide. how wrong they are, hope this helps.

i do not believe the equinox has a remote starter from factory so i am to assume someone had one installed. most directed electronics type alarms simply require you to press the AUX button twice to begin the remote start sequence. if this is not a Directed product then what button you press and how many times you press it may vary.

If you have an alarm, or remote start with an alarm, you need to press and hold thethe valet button which would be hidden under the dash on the driver side, as you are turning the key sometimes remote starts have a starter disable or an alarm option to reset it that is what needs to be done, some systems even if you dont have an alarm go into a valet mode if your remote battery is old or you never reset it or the alarm kicked in or what have you. if this does not work for you then you will need to bring it to a dealership and have them do a total reset to the computer you can also try disconnecting the negative battery cable, but do this with the door open cause it will reset everything, and google the reset procedure for the key fob (remote).. do that reset for the remote and it should save you money from having to bring it to a shop or dealer.

so you turn the key and the starter does nothing... i would suggest that you attempt to start it while someone hits the starter with a hammer... not that gently but don't break the starter either.

If it suddenly turns over you need a new starter. and right away because using a hammer only works a few times.

Incidentally it was minus 20 here last nite lol

i had the same problem for arround 3 months. almost a month after i bought the phone -- this is really really anoying. what i did was to clean all the messages i had in the memory. it worked out. i don;t know if it will work for you but try. also try reseting the phone. i did the same and it helped.
