In computing, a web widget is a software widget for the web. It's a small application with limited functionality that can be installed and executed within a web page by an end user. A widget has the role of a transient or auxiliary application, meaning that it just occupies a portion of a webpage and does something useful with information fetched from other websites and displayed in place. Other terms used to describe web widgets include: portlet, web part, gadget, badge, module, snippet and flake. Widgets are typically created in DHTML or Adobe Flash.
Widgets often take the form of on-screen device such as clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather etc..
New to rooting. And this is my first custom ROM. I have to say It's
quite impressive! Thanks to all who helped develop it, and thanks to all
the end-users who gave feedback. So far my only feedback to make it
better: in the "add widget" screen, you have to go into "browse all HTC
widgets" to get to the clock widgets (actually most of the HTC widgets).
Not a big deal, but for future consideration with future updates.Matty
This is normal for any Sense Rom. All of the sense widgets are in one
place and kept separate so as not to clutter up the widget picker. I
believe it was like that in stock but it's been a long time since I have
it's an android, right? My android's store name changed from android market or whatever to Google Play, that should come with your phone.
If you have the apps but they dont show on the app menu, theyre definitely widgets; find an oped spot on your screen and voila, one of the options will be widgets. Scroll, Select, and place them. If they dont appear on your screen after that, then you might not have provided enoough room for the widget; some are rather large.
If you are referring to yahoo widgets first install the yahoo widget software
after that you can use the .widget file by installing it onto the wigdget software.

I don't have a solution, but an additional comment. I got the widgets to download but some of them don't work. The currency converter didn't work and neither did the weather one. I felt quite deceived.
