SOURCE: The needle thread will not pick up the bobbin thread

It looks right but its not. Try looking on the internet for threading instructions. The bobbin winds in two directions, I have never saw a Bernina but I have 2 new machines and the thread goes in and then threads back to the left. Its hard to describe. But if the bobbin isn't right it will not pick up the thread. Write to Bernina for instructions. There are websites that have the directions for free.

SOURCE: bobbin thread won't catch with needle thread

check that the needle is in the right way round i.e. with cut out on the needle facing into the machine. if this is fine then check that as the needle comes back up from the lowest point that it goes to, that the point on the bobbin case passes just above the hole in the needle, i.e. in the middle of the cut out.(if not it needs re timing) if threaded a small loop should appear at this point for the bottom bobbin to catch if not slacken the top thread and try again.

Singer model 1022 needle not picking up bobbin thread

Make sure the correct needle is properly installed. then remove bobbin and rethread it. Reinstall. Work? Good. If not, make sure carriage is correctly installed and the timing is right. The hook should pick up the needle thread about 5 degrees from the needle down point. I recently repaired a machine where the bobbin gear had a set screw that had loosened. this will be under or behind the bobbin, depending on model. Good luck!

1507 singer wont stitch

it would be a good idea to change the needle
rethread the machine using every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case
and that the bobbin case is correctly inserted into the machine
it's also possible that the machine could have jumped time and
needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop.

I hit a pin with my Singer Stylist 7258. It jammed. I changed the needle, rethreaded it, and turned it off and on, but it snarls up thread under the fabric, and seems that the thread does not always loop...

Good that you changed the needle. Did you rethread just the needle or did you rethread the machine? You may have already taken these steps, but if not, here is what I would suggest:

1. Replace the old needle (which you did), even if it looks ok, as it may be bent or have a tiny burr or other damage that isn't easily visible. Make sure the needle is seated properly - facing forward and fully inserted.
2. **Completely rethread the machine, making sure the thread is going through the take-up lever. It can easily pop out when the machine jams, and you can't always see that the thread is out of place. That could explain why the thread doesn't loop properly around the bobbin.
3. Remove the bobbin and clean any knotted thread or lint from around the bobbin carrier. Canned air is great for cleaning the lint.
4. Replace the bobbin, making sure the thread-end is clipped neat, not frayed or knotted.
5. Try sewing on some practice fabric to make sure the stitches are going to form properly before returning to your sewing project.
Good luck!

Every few stitches thread gathers and jams on bobbin side of fabric. Why? [the machine is a Singer model 6180]

Change needle
Clean under needle plate where feed dogs are for lint
Clean bobbin area for lint or loose threads
Rethread machine top thread make sure to get every thread guide
& bobbin
Check tension 3 or 4 is usually good
