SOURCE: toshiba md20p1c tv power won't stay on

The problem is Q401. Change it. It is a 2SC1624 but a 2SC1018 will also work. This solution will work for other Toshiba P combo units.

SOURCE: Toshiba TV Combo MW24FP1, DVD player doesn't work on some discs

This is a common problem for all combo units. The high voltage of the TV section attracts large amounts of particulate dust from the air and often it collects inside the DVD unit. The best way to deal with this is to clean the lens of the DVD unit u sing a cotton swab and alcohol. The store bought "cleaners" MAY work, but that is rare. These cleaners are nothing but small brushes embedded into a disc. They attempt to brush off hte dust. This rarely works. Open up the unit (if you feel comfortabel in doing so) to access the DVD section. Remove the top cover and carefully clean the lens. That should resolve the problem.

SOURCE: Toshiba TV/DVD combo turns on then off again.

try letting it sit for 15-20 minutes unplugged from the wall and maybe try another outlet depending on if u got plugged in to a power strip, possibly pulling to much power from that perticular outlet.

SOURCE: toshiba 13' tv dvd combo, Fios remote control need code

Greetings!

Here are the codes: take a deep breath:

0181, 1283, 0183, 1292, 0087, 0677, 0859, 0872, 1183, 1383, 1683, 1731

You may find that these don't work. Often, with combination pieces like yours, you will find you are lucky if you can get a universal remote to turn it on and change the volume and little more. The fact that Toshiba did not build this peice can compound the problem. My suggestion, if you can't get the universal to program up, is to use the original remote for the set. If you do not have the original remote it is available from www.encompassparts.com for around $15.00 plus shipping. The original part number for the Toshiba remote is 72796929.

Good luck!
Rob

That sadly is a power supply failure of some kind, most likely. It is shutting down to prevent more problems.

Tv will not stay on it turns off after a few seconds.

It is in shutdown because of a short in the set OR if a combo unit the player portion (VCR or DVD) may have a jammed or not working mechanism which will shut the unit off instantly as the set tests those each time it is turned on.

My toshiba tv turns off on its own, sometimes it will stay on for a few hours, other times only after 5 minutes it will go of

Ok This may be due to having a heated CPU/MOTHERBOARD and can cause a fuse to shut down to stop further damage like when a computer detects problems. My solution would be to get an airated space and when it shuts down feel the back of the tv to feel for heat, open windows when turning on or blow a cool hairdryer into the back of it.

Toshiba TV

Will not power, led blinking
check R640 (1K 1/4w) if open replace ic600 (8-759-670-30)
Standby led blinks slowly, a few times, chassis won't start up
I changed the vertical deflection ic type TDA8170 and I measured two leaky capacitors in the power supply. Better to change all 4 capacitors in the power unit, everything was then ok !

Toshiba MD13P3 13 in. TV/DVD

I have the exact problem. We have three TV/DVD combos from Toshiba, and within the last two weeks all three of them started have the same problem - all at different times. At first I thought one had a power surge problem, so I took it to the TV repair shop (being diagnosed now), then a few days later the second one did the same thing. And now, three days later, the third one (newer model Toshiba) started doing the same thing.
