Washing Mashine draw Wont Empty

Washing machine seems to go through the cycle ok but doesn't seem to empty the powder from the draw, water goes into the draw but only a litle at the begining of the cycle, I think the only water that is going into the machine is hot and the cold water feed may be broken.

Washing machines problems

please check if the water outlet pipe is clear by blowing down it to see weather the pipe is clear as the machine wont move on until the water is emptied from the last cycle it needs to empty the wash water first before spin cycle can start, its worth a try eric

Water leaking from the panel under the turn knob

Water comes in the back, then goes via to solenoid valves to the back of the powder tray, it then is distributed through holes above each compartment, take out the powder tray (push down the blue bit at the back of the softener compartment) and check for cracks or even blockages, (water goes from tray down the back and through a short rubber hose straight into the drum.

Been dealing with a smelly washer- tried the usual, bleach, vinegar, CLR.....it doesn't seem to have a lint trap.....is there one? where might it be?? Its old but works great other than this.....

Have you tried doing an empty 90 degree wash with white powder?
It does have to be white powder rather than colour powder or any kind of liquid, becauses only white powder has bleaching agents.
Add it helps if you leave the machine empty or clothes, towels etc.

Washing machine smells are usually caused by mildew, and a 90 degree wash with bleaching agents ought to help. If you do this about once a month it should keep the machine clear of mildew.

I have a WD1 12C Smeg washing machine - when I open the door there is an awful smell reminiscent of stagnant water - the machine it self seems to be running OK I've put it on 90degress empty but still...

This will potentially sound odd, but run the 90 degree cycle again with 3 dishwasher tablets in the drum. The smell is bacterial and probably the result of a build up of residue from biological soap powder (Which is simply bacteria that eat your stains). Dishwasher tablets are anti-bacterial and will kill the bugs making the smell

The fabric softener container doesn't empty during the cycle of the washing machine. Adding water manually does empty it - so I guess there's a problem with the fossit. The machine opens from the top. The...

It is more than likely that the water inlet orifice is blocked.Get something to poke into the hole or holes in the top of the soap drawer compartment over the fabric conditioner compartment.
This should solve the problem.

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.

My washing machine wont take the soap powder and softener

It could be a water inlet valve that is at fault. Are the hot and cold supplies turned on? Try opening the powder draw very slightly when the machine is filling with water, if no water in powder draw, chances are that the inlet valve is at fault, situated on the inside of machine where the filler pipes connect. Unplug machine from power supply before checking the inlet valves with a resistance meter, making sure to disconnect wires from one terminal to avoid false readings. Tom.
