HP 2320 problem

HELLO,
I just changed the black cartridge for my new HP 2320 and the message ''Remove shipping lock'' appears on the display, so I can't print.
Can anyone help me, thank You very much

  • nikelson Jul 07, 2009

The problem is that I didn't replaced it with brand new one, but just changed toner and chip, and I think think that it is impossible to appear such message, so the problem must be a different one.

Getting an error message

If this is a color printer, there are cartridge locks on the left side of the printer after you remove the cartridges especially on a 3600, 3800, etc. These white plastic locks can break and you will get this message. But first make sure the shipping tape etc are removed from the cartridge

Hp cp2025 remove shipping lock

I had same problem with black and blue cartridges. I did all recommendations -- return to factory setting ( no help). Shake cartridges REALLY hard ( no help); reinstall printer/ driver ( no help). What finally WORKED was SWAPPING the cartridges around ( for ex. put red in black spot, blue in yellow). I then got an error message ( b/c in wrong spot). Then I placed them back in correct spots and it WORKED !!! NO more error message that the ship lock was on !!! And this worked with generic cartirdges.

I have a HP Color Laserjet 2025. I recently replaced the color cartridges and when I tried to replace the black toner cartridge I got the message - "remove the shipping lock on the black toner...

My suggestion is to put the 2 cartridges next to each other and look at them as closely as you can. There has to be a difference between the one that works and the ones that give the error.
Something that just occurred to me. Check the slot where the black cartridge sits. Check it for something that could have fallen off the original cartridge and is wedged in the slot. Compare the slot with another cartridges slot.
Because one cartridge works and others don't, it tells me it's a physical(hardware) problem not electrical.

Hp cm2330 remove shipping lock

HP Color LaserJet CM 1312 Series MFP customers may experience a failure during initial printer startup. After installing the print cartridges and powering on the printer they may receive an error condition or error message on the printer’s display. The printer’s orange Attention LED will flash and a Remove shipping lock from XX cartridge message will appear on the printer’s display; where XX represents the black, cyan, magenta or yellow print cartridge or any combination.
SOLUTION: First, verify the print cartridge shipping locks (orange ring attached to the toner as shown below) have been removed from the print cartridge(s) in question. Second, verify the front and back doors of the printer are properly closed. If the shipping lock has been removed, all doors are closed, and the Remove shipping lock from XX cartridge error remains a unit exchange is the recommended solution.

I haven't the manual for this printer color laserJet 2600n series,

document.tlSearch.tx.value=unescape("") s.gif s.gif
HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer - Installing Print Cartridges When a print cartridge approaches the end of useful life, the control panel displays a message recommending that to order a replacement. The printer can continue to print using the current print cartridge until the control panel displays a message instructing to replace the cartridge. The printer uses four colors and has a different print cartridge for each color: black (K), cyan (C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y). Replace a print cartridge when the printer control panel displays one of the following messages: Replace yellow cartridge, Replace magenta cartridge, Replace cyan cartridge, Replace black cartridge. The control panel display also indicates the color that should be replaced (unless a genuine HP cartridge is not currently installed). Change the print cartridge
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the front door. c00315320.gif CAUTION: Do not place anything on the transfer belt (ETB), which is located on the inside of the front door.
  3. Remove the used print cartridge from the printer. c00315321.gif
  4. Remove the new print cartridge from the bag. Place the used print cartridge in the bag for recycling. c00315322.gif
  5. Grasp both sides of the print cartridge by the blue handles and distribute the toner by gently rocking the print cartridge from front to back. CAUTION: Do not touch the shutter or the surface of the roller. c00315323.gif
  6. Remove the orange shipping locks and the orange shipping tape from the new print cartridge. Discard the shipping tape and shipping locks according to local regulations. c00315324.gif
  7. Align the print cartridge with the tracks inside the printer, and using the handles, insert the print cartridge until it is firmly seated. c00315325.gif
  8. Firmly close the front door. c00315326.gif
  9. Turn on the printer. After a short time, the control panel should display Ready.
NOTE: If a cartridge is in the wrong slot or is the wrong type for the printer, the control panel will display one of the following messages: Incorrect yellow, Incorrect magenta, Incorrect cyan, Incorrect black.
  10. Installation is complete. Place the used print cartridge in the box in which the new cartridge arrived. See the enclosed recycling guide for recycling instructions.
  11. If a non-HP print cartridge is in the printer, check the printer control panel for further instructions.
NOTE: When replacing or changing a black print cartridge, a cleaning page will automatically print. This helps prevent speckles on the front or back of printed documents. A cleaning page can also be generated using the control panel or the HP Toolbox.
