My 32 inch Sharp TV power light is blinking with no sound and no picture. It was on and just turned itself off and now the power light is blinking. What can I do?

Your tv is not worth fixing im afraid.

Flashing of power light are fault indications. These are called blinking codes. Count the number of blinks occur one time switch on. It will give you an idea about the faulty section circuit inside. If you wish to know more about these blinking codes, check this link.

you should perform the initialization to factory defaults.

Tries unplug,replug tries on/off for awhile might work,not than the backlight board it dead.

power inverter board is dead.

Just posted this for the same set:
The sound; is it a click or a sharp snapping sound? 
The first can be a relay turning on, the second is most likely related to a high voltage discharging. 
If it is a relay, then the set could be trying to protect itself from an overload or the power supply has failed; the blinking ON LED is pointing toward that. 
If it is a high voltage discharge (you may be able to see it through the vents in the rear housing) then it is possible that an accumulation of dust and household airborne contaminents has created a path that can be removed with some targeted cleaning.  

How many times does the POWER led blink per sec? (dont worry about the OPC)

2x = power supply (not as expensive to fix)
3x = Main board (expensive to fix)

no kidding? what is the problem so prevelant in this unit? obvious design flaw.
