Oreck SL will not work on medium setting

first off does the light come on at all? when the switch is moved to the High Medium or low setting do you see a red light or a green light on the right side of the unit? if there is no light at all, then there is either no power and you have a bad cord or a bad outlet. The only other thing could be the switch that needs to be tripped in order to let the unit run, that switch is closed by the front cover locking in place. that switch could be bad or your cover may have the tip of the pin that pushes the switch closed broken off or deformed and not pushing down enough to close the switch. try pushing a screwdriver down on the switch and see if it comes on. There's nothing that can shock you if you push on that switch, the power wires are concealed inside a plastic covered area that the switch slides into. If you close the switch and it doesn't come on the check the power cord or the wall socket for power. See if the cord has any unusual looking spots or lumps, stretching, cuts or anything that looks suspicious.

Not trying to be funny, but it depends on the wire, if your air purifier is still running or not, whether you have lost hi/low settings etc. Or is your plug wire and you lost the internal ground wire. The bushings need regular lubrication with silicone spray.

Here's something that has worked in the past. Turn the Master ON/OFF switch to OFF. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and wait 12 - 15 minutes before plugging it back in. Once it's plugged back in turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the controls as you normally do.I f everything now functions as it should, the unit reset itself.

If that doesn't solve the problem contact the Oreck Service Dept that did the tuneup for you.

It depends on what you paid for it.I checked out Oreck and they had no free downloads available for anything.Here is their customer service though to find out about parts,diagrams,etc.Some places will not sell parts to consumers,some will.Here is the link.

sounds like ur medium speed has gone out

fuse is in back by power plug, but this unit sucks!!! i went thru 5 of them, the power supply keeps failing. they will rework it under warranty but it takes forever. call salesperson. good luck. I gave up on them and went to oreck. it sucks too, just plain unhappy cause the ecoquest ROCKS when working correctly, but the oreck barely does job
