Here's the answer from the Dell website:

To restore your system to its original configuration:

  1. If you have made a Dell Backup and Recovery tile, just click on that tile and go to step 5.
  2. Click on the Windows Desktop tile.
  3. Swipe from the right or move the mouse to a right-hand corner to open the Charms bar and then click Search.
  4. Click Apps and find Dell Backup and Recovery, then click on that icon.
  5. On the Dell Backup and Recovery screen, click Recovery.
  6. On the left side of the screen, click System Recovery, then click Yes, Continue and choose Factory Image from the list.
  7. Click Restart and follow the appropriate directions.

My laptop (doesn’t matter what brand, we’ve had the same issue on all of them) disconnects from the internet and when I go into internet settings the ‘use a proxy server ‘ box has a check in it. I uncheck...

My suggestion would be trying to clear the dns cache. This can be a problem and is simply done with the following in command window. Make sure you start up the command window as administrator before proceeding:

  1. At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
    • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
    • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Yamaha receiver will not connect to Airplay

I have the same problem, it seems the airplay connection is easily lost, it never plays for longer than an hour without itunes losing the receiver, then i have to reset the receiver so that it appears in itunes again, very annoying. I spoke to Yamaha and they are not aware of any issues but clearly there is one. A quick workaround is to bring the receiver up in a browser by typing in its IP address, go to IP Address tab and simply apply without changing anything, this causes the receiver to initialize its network function as you will see the amp resetting and it will then appear in iTunes. This doesn't work through the units setup without changing settings and then changing them back again. Hopefully this is just a glitch that will Yamaha will fix in the next firmware update, I am running 1.14 update.

Hi, I'm trying to connect to a wireless network. When I connect to the network it says I'm not connected but also says

You should first reset your router then if that doesn't work you should run a Virus scan. If either of those don't work then you may be dealing with a WiFi card failure.

My sound card isn't recognised

  • no computer stated.
  • no operating system stated
  • or of connected to the internet
internal speakers or external?, you never said.
does the device manager show the sound chip? it must or the HP drivers are missing, (some take more lower level chips working first)
(yah complex and in the correct order installed)
with no red or yellow marks, ? DM colors>
be on the internet , right click, that sound chip and click update driver? curing said driver errors?

my guess, is there are other HP drivers missing or wrong.
Get the HP recovery kit for this LT? reinstalled unstated windows?
it could be virus infected and if it is, you will never get it right,
unless fresh loaded .
If this is XP it is a virus magnet, for now and eternity..

see this tag, see that name and number here, what do you have.
this is a service tag seen on all hp gear.

Farmville doesn´t load on my computer and lost all my neighbours, but if i try it with my friends login on my computer it works!

1. Try deleting the "cookie" of the Web Browser.

If you are using the Internet Explorer then check this Link for the instruction to delete the cookies.

If you are using the Firefox then click on the option "Tools" in the menu bar and select the option "Clear Recent History" or press the"CTRL+SHIFT+DEL" keys to delete the cookie.

2. If the issue persists try resetting the Internet Explorer.

When you reset Internet Explorer settings, all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer.

Check this Link for the instruction to reset the Internet Explorer.

This should resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Will sync but online LED won't work

4 Select the connection type from the Connect Type drop-down menu. ? Always Connected means that Internet connection to your ISP is always on. ? Auto - Triggered by Traffic means your Router will automatically connect to your ISP every time a PC needs to access the Internet. ? Manual - Start in Disconnected means that after re-booting the Router, the Internet connection will need to be re-established manually by the user. ? Manual - Start in Connected means that after re-booting the Router, it will automatically establish a connection to your ISP.
(from http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02582095-1.pdf )

this sounds like Manual - Start in connected mode will get the ip address and dns settings automatically from the ISP

using adsl on phone line then use pppoe for the protocol

DCHP server has to be set up also and on
The DCHP server ip address range is 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.254 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and default gateway is 192.168.1.1

pppoe protocol allows the ADSL to connect many computers on the one isp global ip address allocated to your line via using different port numbers to translate the computers internal ip address on the dhcp server through the router.
