Seagate Backup Plus 1tb Portable Drive For Mac Save To Social Logo

I recently bought a Seagate Backup Plus Portable Hard Drive with 1TB of storage. The first time I used it, I was able to drag and drop around 100 photos from my Mac without any problems, but the second time I plugged it in a few weeks later, it won't let me add any files at all to the drive. I am very confused about how to go about fixing this problem, and this is my first hard drive, so I don't really know where to even start.

Oh I have the exact same problem - its because its not formatted for a mac. You need to empty the device before formatting as it will wipe whatever is on it. If you format as FAT32 it can be used by both mac and PC.

Bought a seagate backup plus hard drive to backup files, installed on computer but cannot backup files, problem says could not be performed because of anI/O device error.

Connect the external drive to a different computer, and try to copy a few files to it. If you still get "I/O Error", then the unit has malfunctioned.

Seagate dashboard wont recognise drive

Make sure your computer has found it and it's supposed to be working fine then replace the USB cable, try another port, uninstall the harware from windows, then unplug the drive and reinstall you may want to try the previous version of software if you can. Also check firmware updates and double check correct windows / OS and bit level.

Hello! I recently bought a samsung portable

The software is telling you one thing and the Webmaster another. I would trust what the software error is saying to you. I can't even register my Samsung Tab 3 on their site, it asked me to enter the purchase date which I did, 11/16/13. When I tried submitting the form, I got an error telling me the Tab 3 was manufactured 11/30/13, making my purchase date incorrect. Really??!!! My Best Buy receipt didn't lie and I was there at the store that very day, and had purchased the Tab 3.
