I just purchased a Kenmore progressive canister off of ebay. I received it today 7/6 and there is a shortage from the hose prong to the canister prong. There is too much room and the hose is wiggly and its loosing the connection. The power keeps coming on and off and sometimes take 15- 30 seconds for the vacuum to come back on. Does that mean the hose is not the correct hose with the canister... is it the wrong hose or how do I make the hose fit snug into the canister? I have never has this problem with Kenmore Progressive s before.

We use Kenmore canister vacuums almost exclusively in my wife's cleaning business. We like them for their versatility and reliability. However, they are designed for residential use once a week, whereas each of our Kenmore?s clean about 5 houses a day, so in a week' time one of our canisters has cleaned the equivalent of 6 months of its designed use. In the last 5 years I have had to become very good at repairing these units. For the sake of your issue, I have found the weak points to be the hoses and power heads. I do not know which model you have, so if you can give me a serial number (usually begins with 116.x...) I can probably help you out. We have 15 units covering 3 of the most common models out there, and one of them is most surely yours. Let me know - TomR
My Mom has this vac and it's doing the same exact thing. The hose connection the canister seems fine. It's the hose connection to the carpet head that's the problem; it wiggles too much. Serial# D20102339. Appreciate any help you can give.
