Trying to hook up a KLH sub woofer, S100ETH, PSW8-100 to a VCR reciever. Reciever has sub woofer connection but does not works on the KLH sub woofer. What is the problem ?

When hooked up from the recoever to the input connection did turned the light in the back of the KLH sub woofer red and no reactions at all.

An often overlooked issue with quiet or no sub woofer output is that if the front and/or mid are set as Lrg or Med there is no SubWoofer or it is drastically decreased. So check your speaker size and you be pleasantly surprised by the ,return of the missing thump. Your neighbors? Not so much ;)

I suggest you go over your receiver set-up instructions. See if you need to set the receiver to acknolwedge the addition of the subwoofer. It should be in your receiver set-up steps. Just as a check, hook up one of your other speakers to the subwoofer lead to see if gets audio signal. I'm guessing the issue is your receiver settings.

Why not. A speaker system should work with anything that produced sound meant for a speaker.
Don't you think?
find the woofer out on the onkyo and connect the bose sub-woofer there.
Seems pretty simple. If you don't think so, go hide in a closet.

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.
Page 17 and the MACCV procedures on Page 33 (auto) or 43 (manual)

Im trying to hook up a sub-woofer to my reciever. the sub-woofer has plain stereo wire that is hard wired into the sub-woofer. the reciever has only a single port that is indicated as the sub-woofer port....

You can get rca jack ends at any electronics store.So no you don't need a new sub.

Connecting a sub-woofer to Pioneer VSX-453 surround reciever

I got the same issue. But, I go ahead hooked it up two banana plugs on teh VCR outlet. It works fine on my Cerwin Vega Sub.

Subwoofer VERY weak

According to the KLH manual for the 9906 "6 pack" with the BassBite sub... it says "if your sub is connected via the speaker - level terminals, your reciever must be set for "NO" subwoofer - even though you are using one. VErify proper polarity on your speaker connection wires. (red or gold to +, black or silver to -). Depending on how you have your woofer connected to the reciever, if connected to a reciever without a subwoofer out then set your reciever for LARGE speakers and turn the subwoofer setting "OFF". Failure to do so will result in little to no bass. If you do have a subwoofer out from your reciever adjust your speaker size setting to small or large speakers as appropriate. Set the recievers sub output to ON. Connecting small speakers to a reciever set for LArge speakers can result in damage to small speakers.
