Hi, bought a replacement remote for Alba DVD player 65/B, but can' Cannot get replacement remote for Alba DVD 65/B to work. identical to the old one, do I need to set it up in some way?

This does not sound at all like user error. That is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Take it to Geek Squad at any Best Buy to have it sent in for service under the warranty.

SOURCE: AudioLogic DVD-108 - help setting up component cables (no picture)

This may not be a solution, but is a good start. I recently bought a house with the theater system installed, but no remote. Had similiar problems with some functions on Universal remote. Did a google search and got the remote for my system and presto! I did a google on the DVD-108 and saw a AudioLogic remote(similiar, Originals are no longer available), and saw that there is a "setup" button as well as others that may select inputs. This may not be a solution, but would be a good start. Worked for me!

Have you tried Ebay? If you used to proper charger, you shouldn't be able to "overcharge" the battery unles the charging circuit is bad. When battery is attached, will the player "ON" lite come on? Will it try to play a DVD/CD ?

Try 147 - that is one for Sanyo DVD players.

Also try 003, 007, 010, 020, 053, 057, 082, 102, 187, 166, 187, 214, 266, 511.

Hope one of those works for you. Be aware though that depending on the remote you are using, it may or may not be programmed with the right code for this Sanyo DVD player.

The only possible solution and it is a long shot, unplug unit from wall receptical, now press and hold power for 60 seconds, this will drain any residual voltage and reset the microprocessor in hopes it will work. If this fails I recommend the sony technician.
