I have the same problem. I know this sounds stupid but my dog chewed up the remote and there is no button on the face plate to select various sections of a DVD if you need to (like an exercise video that has different workouts).

I have a vcr dvd combo and i want the code for my dish network remote so i can use one remote please

We would be happy to help you with that. Here is a list ofcodes that should address your DISH Network remote to your Emerson DVD/VCR combo unit: 588, 505, 506, 518, 534, 536.

Press and hold the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until allthe mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use thenumber buttons to enter one of the codes for your Emerson DVD/VCR combo unit, thenpress the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, themode light flashes three times. .To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote tomake sure it will properly operate your Emerson component. Keep in mind that somecodes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, pleasetry the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment. We hope this helps and thank you forbeing a valued DISH Network customer!

Need code for Emerson TV,DVD,VCR Combo

I don't know if you guys even need this advice anymore, as it's 1-2 years late, but if your universal remote has a VCR setting, the Emerson 13" CRT TV/VCR combo I have operates under that mode.
The code I used was 002. These may also work: 278, 184, 479, 000, 121, 211, 037, 043, 061, 208
Remember, program your remote as if you were setting up a VCR (and NOT a TV). For instance, on my GE universal, I hold the "code search" button down until I get a steady light. I hit VCR, and then I entered 002. Works like a charm.

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote control after trying all codes
listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for
your code.
NOTE: Before performing a code search for a DVD player or a VCR, turn on the device and
insert the required media.
For example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. On the remote control, press TV once.
2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice,
then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.The LED will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control at the TV and slowly alternate
between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off
(after pressing POWER). If the device does not have a Power
key, you can substitute another function, such as digits 0 ~ 9 ,
CH, or PLAY).
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from
its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code
first.
5. To lock in the code, press and release SET.The LED will
blink twice.
6. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps
1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for
the device you are searching for.
