Because your TV is not Bluetooth-enabled and you are trying to connect it to a Bluetooth-enabled soundbar via Bluetooth. There are other ways to connect your TV to the soundbar:

1. analog AUDIO OUT (L/R) of your TV to the AUX IN on the soundbar (use a 3.5 mm.-to-RCA audio cable).
2. Optical OUT on your TV to Optical IN on the soundbar.
3. HDMI port to HDMI port (this may not work if your TV is not ARC compliant you have to try).

You get better sound quality with option 2.or 3. (if this one works for your TV)

Here is the link to download the soundbar's User Manual for help with the connections:

my samsung UN50f6300af is a smart tv and has bluetooth. I thought all I would have to do is hook the hdmi cord (one) into soundbar and then into the STB HDMI on the back of the tv...but the Tv does not pop up with the "add new Device" like the instructions say that it will. What am I not understanding?

ok so I connected the HDMI cord to the ARC HDMI on my Samsung smart tv and the supplied cord from audio in to the back of the tv that says audio out. Soundbar still reads "searching" ~ Helpless in Michigan :(

First of all, the message to add a new device will pop up only when you try to establish a Bluetooth connection between the TV and the soundbar, which you cannot do because your TV is not Bluetooth So do the HMDI connection and check to see if you get surround sound through the soundbar. If this does not work, it means your TV is not HDMI ARC-compliant and you are left only with Option 2 I suggested. Here is a link to a very good article that explains what HDMI ARC is.http://hdguru.com/what-is-hdmi-arc-and-w...

You do not need any audio connection between the TV and the soundbar. The ARC HDMI connection, if it is truly ARC-compliant, transmits the sound from the TV to the soundbar. The "searching..." message is on probably because you put the soundbar in Bluetooth-pairing mode and it is still looking foa a nearby Bluetooth device. Turn off Bluetooth on the soundbar or turn off the soundbar completely and then back on.

I have a Samsung soundbar connected to my TV. Sound is working fine through the optical cable. But when I connect the soundbar to Bluetooth there is no sound at all. Please help.

Try pressing and holding the Bluetooth button on the sound bar, that will put it in search mode. Once it detects the Bluetooth device it will connect.

How do I connect my Sharp HT-SB30 soundbar to Samsung UHD7500 TV

Should be able to use Bluetooth. Need to "pair" the devices (the TV and the soundbar). On soundbar, press On/Standby to power it on, press Input to select Bluetooth (pairing indicator blinks), press & hold pairing button until pairing indicator blinks quickly. Now go to the TV's setup menus: Sound > Speaker Settings > TV Speaker > SoundShare Settings, Add New Device=On, select the Sharp GT-SB30 from device list. If passcode, password, etc is needed, enter 4 zeros (0000). After the devices are paired. the pairing indicator on the soundbar should stop blinking. The pairing information should be retained so you only have to do this one time unless you do a full reset on the TV or soundbar.

There should not be any problem in connecting this TV to Sound Bar. Check all the connections. Contact any service technician to seek help in this matter. Refer the user manuals to both the sets.

How do I play my dvd camcorder sc-dc171 on my new tv. model # UN50F6300AF I know I have it connected properly and it worked on my old tv. Any help would be appreciated.

You can connect the A/V out to the inputs of the TV.
if you have any HDMI out in the camera, you can connect the same to the HDMI IN of the TV.
Last option is if you have RF modulator, you can modulate the AV out to RF and then connect the same to the TV tuner RF in of the TV.
