Had to disassemble a Hampton Bay ceiling fan to install a new light pull switch. Hung from a paperclip while fixing but it dropped and disconnected a number of wires. Rewired by my best guesses and now fan runs OK (but only one speed) and light works OK also. I have an extra wire from the little cubic controller (three wires) which I assume to be the speed control. I need a wiring diagram so I can fix the variable speed. Right now it's on full or off depending on the wall switch.

If you bought the switch from Lowes, most likely it's the wrong switch. Even if it looks the same on the outside, it could be different on the inside. As for the other wire, push it into the empty slot of the switch & see what happens. There has to be 4 wires in the switch. Black usually goes to L

Testimonial: "The switch I bought was the light switch. That works fine. The switch that got into trouble is the one that controls the fa speed. It has three wires that don't color-code with anything else in the setup. It's that one which is always on at set speed now, I need wiring instructions for the little black cube that apparently controls the multi-option fan speed. Right now: wall switch on, light works )on or off with the new switch I bought but fan is on all the time and does not respond to its pull chain. Hope that helps to explain it."

Ceiling fan

mcdevito75 here, You"ll have to remove the cover close to the ceiling to get at the switch, Make sure the wall switch and fuse are out. Note the wire position and replace the switch with 1 from a hardware store. Are you sure that toggle switch is for the lights, as you should have another for the fan. Usually the wakk switch is used to turn the lights on and a toggle switch used to start the fan.

Can you replace light kit on Hampton Bay ceiling fan, Model-Cessna

Yes..
There are a bout three screws that hold the light part to the fan.
Make note of the wiring before you disconnect it also.
Remove the screws and the wiring will be exposed as the light part drops down...
Check the diameter of the light parts and find a new light kit that will fit it...
The Hampton Bay fans are exclusive to Home Depot, so most any of their light kits will fit, but any kit the right diameter will work..

Did you try Home Depot, Lowes, or any lighting supply store. It's a pretty common item, so they should all stock it
