Which is the best for a CD player with Big Earphones..New Durabrand, Memorex or Coby..or Sony?

If the player really can play flac and has a good DA converter, I think it is one of the best portable music players around.
I do use Shure SE425 and Stax RS-001 MK2 earphones (both in ear) I think the Sony NWZA17 would be a good match for both phones.
I use very expensive sound cards in my computer and only play Flac or real CD. Be aware not the amount of bits or the sample rate is important. The source used to make the digital recording decides how the result, coming out of you speakers (or earphones) can be.
My earphones can keep up with my electrostatic loudspeakers, so worth trying. If money is no issue the Shure SE535 would be great. Although more expensive than the Sony MWZA17. But once you have great earphones, they can be used for many years to come. The player will be replaced in at least 3 to 5 years

you need phillips brand audio discs only they will work with that machine

same again here my philips machine would only use there own brand i used to get them from a pound shop no problems with them could not use any other make so thats why i sold my machine the ones i bought were audio cd

It depends on the model of player you have. For example, COBY has older models that won't play anything other than commercial DVDs. However, most new DVD players, and by new I mean ones that are no more than 12 months old, can play DVD +R and -R. i have a problem with my 2g coby mp3 player and the thing is it burns out the left side of all the earphones i use and the battery last for about 8 to 10 minutes

Does it happen when playing cassette or radio? might have a problem with the speaker wires.
