My LCD TV has a vertical line on the right side of the screen. What causes that?

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help

Can't see what I'm taking a picture of because the vertical lines/white screen

Unless you have a circuit diagram and have electronic knowledge the it is best left to an expert camera repair specialist.
The costs? Your guess is as good as mine. Camera repairers may charge a quote for repairing unless you go ahead with the repair.

Hello, I have a student in our electronics class that has an Emerson EWF2702. Problem is the tv has sound but only a white line will show up on the screen when it's turned on. Can you provide a diagram...

Hello
A single white line across the screen denotes the absence of vertical sweep. Its vertical output section, or its vertical deflection coil section [integrated to deflection coin assembly fixed at the neck of picture tube] may got damaged. Deflection coil faults are very rare. You just look into vertical sweep output and its dirve section. Check for all voltages. Check its main supply voltage. The output voltage must be almost about the half of its supply voltage. Usually most of the modern telivisions uses an IC in this stage. Sometimes that Ic may be faulty. Check it also. Schematic diagram of Emerson is not available with us; and is ver difficult to get. If you wants any further assistance contact me. [email protected].

How do you fix a white horizontal line across top of Orion TV?

Hello eatkinson,

This denotes a problem with the vertical deflection circuit. This is more then likely the result of the vertical coupling capacitor failing. You will need the schematic diagram of the TV to find the capacitor in question. it is located between the vertical output stage and the vertical deflection winding of the yoke transformer. In addition check the continuity of the vertical winding of the yoke transformer this can cause the same problem. In any event the problem is that the vertical deflection signal is not getting to the yoke transformer or the yoke transformer is malfunctioning.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Image flat line

Vertical sweep failure.
It will be an I.C. with a part number that probably starts with an LA_ _ _ _ and be on a heat sink in the vicinity of the connector going up to the yoke. Try replacing that. But first, check all the electrolytic caps around it for testing dry (sorry - takes a special meter to do it in circuit) or just replace them. May have lost power to the I.C. as well. Look the I.C. up in the free NTE crossreference at nte.com get a diagram of its pinout to find what pins the power and outputs are on.
Hope ya fix it!

I see only horizontal line on TV Samsung CK-5339ZB

h/line is due to vertical section failure. 1 reduce brightness as you will get h/line due to vertical failure. 2 check v/section for loose contact or yoke connection. 3 check supply to vertical section. 4 check associated parts in v.section 5 at last check for vertical ic. resistor R410 CONNECTED TO high voltage transformator T444 is low value resistor. .5ohm to 10 ohm. it burnt again due to short cht in vertical mainly due to ic. hope this will help. as per schematic diagram go to www.serviceinfo.com
