Question about Reddy Heater-170,000 BTU Kerosene Deluxe
Removed air filter and it runs .cleaned air filter and replaced. it then runs for 2 or3 minutes
Not really, the limit switch is like an emergency cutoff. If it reaches the limit, it shuts down.

I had close to the same problem i drain the tank added new fuel still no diffrence so i removed the filter going to the tank pick up flushed out with brake clean it work fine for half a day . I knew then i was on the right track . I went to the local hardware store and bought a tune up kit that had the filter in it,I replaced the filter going to the tank pick up and it's been working fine even in cold weather. Fuel quality has a big part to play in it's abbility to burn in colder tempicures.

Same problem I had and it was the CAD/flmae sensor. you can get one that will fit from Mr. Heater for 3 bucks or from reddypats.com for 18. the wires are a different color but all you do is clip them and splice them to your old wire harness. It does''nt matter how you hook them as there is no hot and ground just a complete circuit.

the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

You Must set the pump pressure quickly! If allowed to run with the nose cone a "bright" cherry red the welds will deterioate to the point that the end will separate from the combustion chamber. Individual sheet metal parts of the chamber are not available.

Here is a link to your owner's manual... http://220.127.116.11/manuals/123919-01A.PDF. Look on page 8 and 10. It could be several things. It could only be a dirty fuel filter or the pump pressure may just need adjustment. If you need a part you can contact Master Parts at 800-466-1446 or you can find them on-line at www.masterparts.net. I hope this helps!
