2000 kia sportage the meter fuse intermittingly breaks ,cant figure it out

My experience with a kia sportage is that the big fuses are simply inserted to the fuse box located in front of the battery at the engine bay. The plastic holders gets brittle over a span of time and due to the heat inside the engine bay. Most often the fuse loosens up and causes fuse blow out. I had 4 successive fuse blows in 2 months time that i decided to change the whole fuse holder with a new one. It Worked

On a 2004 Honda Shadow 750. Can you tell me the steps to removing the seat so I can charge the battery please.

Yes, Towards the back of the front seat and on the side are two big bolts.
I beleive they are allen head bolts. Remove the two bolts and the seat slides out.
If you have a rear seat, pull up on the front of the rear seat so the front will slide back.

Now you see electrical wires and a cdi sitting in a plastic holder. That plastic holder is the battery cover.
Don't unplugg anything, just pull the cdi out of the plastic holder so you can remove the cover.
There will be one screw holding that cover down. remove the screw and lift out the cover.

There is your battery for you to change out, charge, or check.

I need rechargeaable battery for wireless sony stereo headphones mdr-rf860r

Since many Sony headsets use the BP-HP550-11 battery pack, I assume your battery pack is the same. If not, I assume whatever battery pack your headset came with, it is some type of plastic holder that holds two batteries together. Even though you can use regular AAA batteries (that you would have to replace often), there is a huge convenience factor with using the charging cradle that comes with the Sony headset. A solution I found was that I ordered some 550 mAh AAA batteries through Ebay (they came from England and cost me $8 total for four batteries). To make them work in the Sony headset you MUST use the bottom part of the plastic battery holder piece (all you need to do is peel off the BP-HP550-11 label and the bottom half of the plastic battery holder piece slips off of the Sony batteries). Then just slip in the new AAA batteries into the plastic battery holder bottom and then insert into the headset. The reason why you must use the bottom of the battery holder plastic piece is because the plastic piece pushes on a little switch. This switch activates the charging mechanism to enable the cradle charger to charge the batteries.

NOTE: I am not an electronics expert so I do not know if there would be any problem using other rechargeable AAA batteries (with higher mAh ratings). So I decided to be safe than sorry and ordered the 550 mAh batteries through Ebay.

I wish to replace the battery myself, how do I do this?

Polar tells its customers to send watches to them for battery replacement. But the Polar Fitwatch is too old (may have been introduced in 1997?), and they no longer support it. So the only solution is to replace the battery some other way.

For most people I'd say go to a store that sells watches, they'll replace the battery for a fee.

For those who are handy, you can replace it yourself. I did mine yesterday.

The battery is a common type - CR 2032.

You'll need a small screwdriver, philips type, I think. Maybe around 00, or thereabouts. And you need tweezers, preferably with a rubberized grip.

There are four screws holding the back plate. Remove three, and loosen the fourth. Slide the back plate aside.

I unscrewed the screws, then used the tweezers to take them out. They're a bit small for your fingers to get a good grip on them.

The battery is held by a plastic holder that's held by 4 screws. These are (to my eyes) slightly smaller than the ones holding the back plate, so please keep those separate - and keep track of all the screws.

Remove the plastic holder, and make sure you keep track of the spring that's between the holder and the back plate. It'll likely fall out when you turn the holder over.

The holder keeps the battery with a small prong, but it's easy to slide out the battery. Replace the battery, getting the orientation right, making sure you don't touch either side with your bare fingers. This part is easier than it sounds.

Replace the holder, and of course you noted beforehand what the orientation was, so you get it in the same position.

Use the tweezers to drop each screw into its hole, then screw it in.

By this time, the watch will probably start beeping when you tighten one of the screws, because you depress one of the buttons on the front.

Put the spring back in its hole, then slide the backplate back into place, and drop the screws in place with tweezers and tighten one by one.

You should be able to find a manual (which doesn't cover battery replacement procedure) by searching for polar fitwatch manual.

How do I replace the battery and where is it located?

Procedure:

Remove battery cover located under the hood on the passenger side in the back. Simply pry the plastic catch in the front, open it like a lid and jiggle it loose and set it aside.
Use the small flat screwdriver to pop up the center peg in the five peripheral fasteners holding down the plastic compartment cover that you just removed the battery cover from. Each of these has a small black plastic circular flat topped center peg inside a larger plastic circular disk which has 4 slots under which you can slide the screwdriver to pop up the center peg. When the peg pops up simply slide the screwdriver under the larger disk to remove the assembly and loosen that site of fixation. When all five fasteners are out you can remove the entire compartment cover.
The battery terminals are removed with the 10mm wrench
The black box in front of the battery can be lifted out of the way by pressing on the plastic catch in the front of the box to loosen it from the metal flange that it is attached to.
The metal battery holder is removed with the 10 mm wrench. The nut is removed and the long bolt is slid out of the holder and then unhooked from it's bottom anchor. Jiggle the metal bar over the top of the battery to unhook the back hook from its bottom anchor. It may be necessary to lift the plastic over the back of the battery gently and lift out the soft clear plastic washer fluid tube from its guides to get at the back hook.
Gently lift the battery out while holding the cables out of the way.

10mm wrench, small flat screwdriver

When i turn it on i get error 161 and 163

Unplug the computer and turn it over. Loosen the screw on the RAM chip door and remove it. You should see a small disk battery in a black plastic retainer. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to gently pop the battery out from the bottom edge. It will come out easily. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE BLACK PLASTIC HOLDER OR YOU WILL RUIN IT. Reinsert the new battery by sliding it into the retainer and gently push down on the bottom edge and it will pop in. Battery CP1220 available from Radio Shack or Batteries Plus for less than $4.00

Hi,

The order of the steps can be changed up a little but the basic steps are as follows.

1. Disconnect the battery cables. You will need a metric number 8 wrench for this task. Ratcheting wrenches are best. If you are facing the windshield during this task...when you go to loosen them remember you are facing the fasteners backwards, so the left loosie righty tighty rule is reversed. Turn the wrench to the right to loosen the cable bolt if you are facing the windshield. Pull the cables away from the battery

2. Remove the hold down bar / bracket. There are three fasteners on it. One on the
fender, one on the rad frame and one on the T-Shaped part at the base of the battery which is a nut with a washer head on it. You will need a number 10 wrench and socket/ratchet for this task. Be mindful of the height of your new battery compared to the one in there. I just bought an Exide/Motomaster battery and it appears to be taller making it next to impossible to get the bracket to reach the stud at the base of the holder. Remove the bracket up and away after the three fasteners have been removed.

3. Remove the plastic battery cover. To do so, you will more than likely need to pull the block heater chord out of the holder on the inner side of the cover to give yourself enough slack to pull the cover off.

4. Loosen the battery hold down bolt. This is done with a number 10 or 12 socket (12 think) and a long extension bar. Once loosened enough this should allow you to pull the battery up and out of the vehicle.
NOTE: If you have an autostart unit installed , be careful where you have your hands during removal and replacement. Keep them away from the fan.. the autostart I have autostarts the vehicle occasionally when the cables are reconnected.

Hope this will do,
Good luck,
Eitan.
