How do i update my old desktop

that is a very old desktop motherboard, number
no OS stated by you or the OP 4 years ago
so no possible answers. lacking such a super key factor.
there are 3 sources of drivers, (and no virus)
1: ms.com (at the Microsoft PnP servers, click device manager yet, and right click audio device , update driver, yet?
2: samsung get it there. ( I see it is too old now, not there)

3: or find out what chip is there (ask me) and we get the driver directly from the chip maker, learn the OLD PCs do not have drivers for windows 7 or 8 or 10.

so next time post your OS first.

1. Slide from the ride side of the screen to bring up the charms bar.
   
2. Select "settings" charm
3. Click "PC settings" on bottom left.
4. Scroll to the buttom, and click "windows update"
5. Click "check for updates, and or install all available updates.

If you run the Windows 8 update advisor (available on the microsoft website)on your computer you may find that the hardware is too old for windows 8, as it was built to run windows XP. The only way round this would be to update the graphics and add an audio card that is windows 8 ready. I hope this helps.

If you wish to use windows 8, please purchase a newer computer.


You will only cause headache for yourself and other people by attempting to run windows 8 on this old computer.

If you are referring to Windows Update, the answer is no, you don't need to uninstall any updates when updating the computer. Windows Update scans your system prior to downloading and installing new updates.

Go to asus website and

1. download the latest and save to your desktop
2. extract contents to desktop.
3. click the start button. right-click on Computer and select Properties.
4. select Device Manager.
5. click on Imaging Devices to show the name of the webcam.
6. right-click on the name of the webcam and select Properties.
7. go to the Driver tab. click on Update Driver. a new window should pop-up.
8. click 'Browse my computer for driver software'. select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
9. on the next window, it'll give you the current driver. click 'Have Disk'. click Browse. Browse to the desktop and select lastest driver that you've downloaded. it'll be then added to the list of drivers. select the new driver and click Next. Just follow the prompts so that it'll install the new driver.

Update your DirectX to the latest @ MICROSOFT
Update your Video Card Drivers to the lastest too.

If you have updated DirectX and your Video Card drivers to the lastest!and yet cannot play the game, it means that your Video card does not support the game graphics. You will need a better Graphic card.

your driver disk is made for using only on windows platforms
use the driver update feature in ubuntu to install and update your device drivers
you need access to the internet to do this

have you try to download the updated driver for your webcam? make sure its compatible with your operating system(windows)
